118. The Challenge

I ate the snacks, sorry woof!

Hinata ate his pancakes happily, and everyone could tell something seemed off. Kageyama seemed tense and hadn't taken his eyes off Hinata since they had sat down at the table.

"Are you two okay?" Daichi finally asked, causing Hinata and Kageyama to tense up a bit.

"Yeah, we're fine!" Hinata said, flashing Daichi a smile.

Tsuki looked at Kageyama and recognized the stress in his eyes. He had seen the same look when Hinata had gone into heat after eating that omega cookie.

After everyone had finished eating, they all headed back to the stadium. Hinata and Kageyama were trailing behind everyone, and Tsuki and Yamaguchi were a bit in front of them.

"The shrimps in heat, isn't he, " he said, causing Both Kageyama and Hinata to stop walking.

"Tsukki?" Yamaguchi said, confused as to why Tsuki had said that.

"I'm not in heat!" Hinata quickly retorted, trying not to shout.

Yamaguchi stared at Tsuki then at Hinata, trying to figure out what exactly was going on.

"He is, " Kageyama said, knowing that trying to hide it from Tsuki wasn't going to be easy.
"We were trying to hide it so he could still play."

"Please don't tell anyone!" Hinata pleaded.

Yamaguchi looked at Hinata with concern in his eyes.

"That's... Dangerous..." He said, hoping he'd persuade him to not play while in heat.

Tsuki scoffed.

"I'll be fine, " Hinata said, trying his best to sound sure of that himself.

"Hey! You guys coming or not?" they heard Tanaka yell at them before anything else could be said.

The four of them caught up with everyone and went into the stadium. They went to the gym that they'd be playing in and began to do some warm ups. Hinata seemed to be doing good which eased some of Kageyama's worries, and he was able to focus on his tossing.

Before they knew it, it was time for their match to start. Inarizaki was standing on the opposite side of the net. They served the ball first.
Karasuno was able to receive the ball and keep it in the air. Kageyama set to Hinata and watched him jump and spike it over the net, not taking his eyes off of him to make sure he landed okay. The game went on, eventually ending with Iranizaki winning the first game.

Coach Ukai got everyone to gather around before the next set started; Kageyama could tell by the Hinata was acting that the game had taken quite a toll on him. Everyone could tell, though; it wasn't just Kageyama.

"Hinata, I'm in going to change you out for a bit, " coach Ukai said, seeing how Hinata's demeanor was.

"I'm fine!" Hinata protested.

Kageyama put his hand on Hinata's shoulder.

"Just rest for a bit, okay?" Hinata could hear the worry laced in Kageyama's voice and decided to listen.

The second set started, and Hinata impatiently watched and waited, becoming more and more anxious as the game went on. Suga and Yamaguchi were sitting next to Hinata, joining in his anxiousness as the score went from Karasuno being ahead to Inarizaki. Finally, Coach Ukai decided that Hinata looked good enough to play and let him swap out. Hinata managed to finish the set with karasuno winning.
