You walked with a smile on your face through your bedroom. Hearing the door to your apartment opening only meant one thing.

Your Ani was home.

He had been out on a mission with Obi-Wan and Padmé for a couple weeks and you were so excited to finally see him again. You missed him.

As you walked further into the corridor to the living room, your smile started to fade away as you heard cries of pain.

You rushed to the living room and found him standing in tears, helpless.

"Ani" you said under your breath while running towards him. You hugged him as he sobbed. "What happened?" You whispered as you brushed your fingers on his hair. You didn't get an answer, therefore, you walked him to the couch and made him rest his head on your chest as he held you by your waist and cried.

"She's gone" he whispered.

Padmé.

No.

No, not her.

You had to be there for him, so you moved your pain aside and showed that you were going to comfort him.

She was a dear friend of both yours and Anakin. Her loss would leave a great void in both of you.

"Ani...look at me" you whispered, tears locked up in your eyes as you refused to let them go. He slowly brought his head up from your chest to look into your eyes. "She will always be here with us..." You softly spoke. He took a deep breath and looked into your eyes. "How did it happen?"

"It was my fault" he whispered.

"Don't blame yourself..." You caressed the side of his face with your thumb and he swiftly stood up.

"But it was my fault!" He bellowed. You stood up and put both your hands on his chest. "I should've never let her go alone" he sobbed and you hugged him.

From that day on...things changed.

Anakin wasn't himself. He slept all day, he cried, he had anger attacks. You didn't know what to do. All you could do was try to comfort him, but he would push you away.

You felt helpless. You were begging that one day he would come back to be your Ani, but that day never seemed to come.
