Magnus ran towards his and Alec's room. He had needed split seconds for that decision and even though it was a hard one, he immediately knew which was the right one. As much as he knew Alec would be hurt by Asmodeus' offer, he knew there was nothing worse than breaking his trust again. Not after what has happened with Asmodeus. Because compared to then, this time Magnus was completely lucid and had a conscious choice to make. And if there was one thing he had learned from all that drama, it was that whatever the choice was between, he would always choose Alec. He would chose Alec over Asmodeus, he would chose him over Camille, he would chose him over himself. It was Alec he tore down the walls he had built around his heart for, it was Alec who made him feel like flying when he seemed to be drowning. It has always been Alec and no matter what, they had always found their way back to each other. "Alec?", he asked as he stormed into their room. To his surprise his boyfriend was in the kitchen, shirtless, making scrambled eggs. Magnus could burst into tears- why did it have to be today? Why, of all days, did it have to be today that he saw all the things he loved about Alec. The way he walked in the mornings, completely different from what he walked like during rehearsal. His voice which was raspy in the mornings and became deeper throughout the day. His disarrayed hair which never looked the same after waking up, his puffy eyes when he was tired, the smile he always gave him as soon as Magnus walked into the room. The worry flushing into his eyes, after seeing Magnus almost cry. "Hey, what happened?", he asked and approached Magnus, who buried his head in Alec's shoulder and fell into his arms. "Hey.", Alec whispered a bit startled, striking his back. "I love you more than I ever thought a human could love.", Magnus sobbed, "Don't you ever forget that." "I won't.", Alec whispered, "I love you the same way. What's wrong?" "I need to tell you something.", Magnus said whilst his voice broke, sitting down on Alec's opposite. "You can tell me anything.", Alec ensured him and tried taking his boyfriend's hand who flinched immediately. Worried, Alec pulled his hand away. "That day I spoke with Asmodeus the last time.", Magnus sighed, "I didn't tell you all about. He didn't just tell me he was my father, he also made me an offer." Magnus could see Alec's eyes widen in horror- this clearly was as disturbing for him as Magnus has imagined, which was why he decided to carry on quickly, "He offered me money." "What for?", Alec asked puzzled. "For your NYABM bills." "You told him about that?", Alec exclaimed in shock, "Magnus, why would you?" "Because there's nothing to be embarrassed of.", he explained, "And because to me, he was more than a manager. He was my friend. He was someone I talked to about my problems." "And how exactly are my bills your problem?", Alec snapped. "They aren't.", Magnus replied, seeing the hurt expression on Alec face, "But they are your problem. And you were stressed which had me worried. And because I knew expressing my worries to you wouldn't do you any good, I decided to get it off my chest and speak to Asmodeus about it. Not because I wanted to hurt you, Alec. I was trying to not hurt you at all and ended up hurting you even more. And I deeply apologize for that, it wasn't my intention. I tried to make it better but made it worse and I am fully aware and sorry." "Why do I feel like there's more to Asmodeus offering money?", Alec neglected. "Because there is.", Magnus sighed, "He offered me money and in return he wanted me to give him a chance at being something like a father to me. And I know you don't want to hear it, Alec, but it's a damn good offer. And I would be more than happy to do that if you let me." "You're asking me to be your charity case.", Alec scoffed and leant back, "I can't believe it, Magnus. Honestly, you have this little trust in me?" "This has nothing to do with trust, it's an opportunity!", he replied. Alec got up and pushed away his chair, his face twitched with anger:"How is that an opportunity? You need to mentally prostitute yourself so I don't have to work in order to ensure my education here. That sounds like the literal definition of a charity case to me. You sacrifice your time and effort for my comfort- what does that tell me? That you don't believe that I can handle it on my own? Because to me it looks like you don't trust me with the situation." "That's not how I mean it, and you know that. You're hurt, I get it, you have every right to be hurt. I didn't tell you earlier because you were so stressed about everything else but I wanted to at least tell you so I did. Do with the information what you wish, Alec. But I urgently recommend you drop your pride and allow me to help you.", Magnus replied and stood up as well. "Why now, Magnus. Why do you storm in here before classes, knowing we have no time to discuss this.", Alec sighed. "I had no choice.", Magnus swallowed, "I told Camille before I told you. And now she threatened me." "Are you kidding me!", Alec yelled, "So you go tell Camille about all of that as well?" "Do you ever think of what I need, Alec?", Magnus replied, "I needed someone to talk to. And I know I should have known better than to talk to Camille, but I wanted the best for you and therefore I needed to talk to someone. Camille was there in the right moment and I didn't think so I told her. I know it was not fair, I know it was a piece of privacy I had no business sharing, but I'm only human, Alec. I try to do the right thing. "What was the alternative?", Alec asked quietly. "The alternative to what?", Magnus replied. "The alternative to telling me.". Alec sighed, leaning against the fridge. "She was either going to tell you before I did or I would have to kiss her. And I chose to tell you before she got the chance to and not kiss her either.", Magnus replied. Now it was all out in the open. To his own regret, he felt no relief, instead he felt nothing but pain and sorrow. "How noble of you.", Alec replied sarcastically, "I truly need to thank you for not cheating on me. I'm so proud of you, Magnus. Really, an incredible accomplishment. I'm the luckiest guy in the world." With a scoff he walked out of the door. For a split second Magnus thought about following him but he quickly figured all Alec wanted to be was alone.
