"I won't let you move out of here ever.", Isabelle grinned before stuffing another piece of eggs on toast in her mouth, "I swear, otherwise I'll have to hire you as my personal chef." "Same reason I refuse to live without him.", Magnus grinned and gave Alec a kiss on the cheek which left a slightly oily stain. "Come on, I bet even Izzy could do it.", Alec laughed, cleaning off the pan he used- nervous as he was, he couldn't eat anything anyways. "The man just isn't going to accept a compliment, is he?", Magnus chuckled and washed his last bite down with a glass of water. "Humble god.", Isabelle replied sarcastically and put her plate in the dishwasher before giving her brother a hug. "As much as everything sucks, I'm glad to live with you again, even for some time." "I'm glad to have you around more, too.", Alec grinned and ran his hand through her long, silky hair, "It's just like old times: Living with you, going to BDA- the irony cracks me up." "There's something peaceful about it, don't you think?", she asked, loosening her grip. "Maybe."
Unlike last night, today the school wasn't empty- loud chatter echoed from the changing rooms, Cat was on the phone with some parent, light beamed through the large windows, illuminating the wooden floor and the tall, white walls. For the first time, he stepped into the coaches dressing room and hung his jacket next to Cat's coat. Slowly, he stepped into the training room, putting his dancebag in the corner next to the bench and warmed up a bit- ten minutes until class started and he felt like his nerves were about to go completely crazy. "Just like old times, huh?", Cat asked, walking in. "Mostly.", Alec grinned, slowly coming out of squad. "I'm exited for the kids to meet you.", she said before the door opened and the two girls in matching baby blue leotards walked in. Not without glancing at Alec, they sat down in the middle of the room and started chatting whilst pretending to stretch. Within minutes, the rest of the students arrived and gathered on the familiar floor. "Welcome, everyone!", Cat opened the lesson with the same words she used just a few years ago on Alec. "As I already told you guys, there's someone I want you guys to meet- please welcome Alec Lightwood!" With a grin, he stepped to the front, next to Cat who immediately stepped aside. "Thanks for the welcome everyone.", Alec smiled, proceeding to introduce himself, "As Cat just said, my name is Alec, I'm a senior at NYABM, twenty-one years old and a former BDA ballet dancer taught by Miss Catarina herself. She taught me most of what I know so it's really special for me to be her and follow in her footsteps, though hers are big shoes to fill." "Oh come on, stop it.", Cat chuckled, blushing visibly, "All I need you guys to know is that Alec is one of my best students, I've taught him all throughout BDA and assisted him in his preparation for the NYABM auditions after he graduated almost three years ago. Therefore, I am convinced he'll be a great coach to you and you'll learn everything and anything you need to know- especially his experience at NYABM might be of great guidance to those of you, who choose to go pro after graduating here." "Precisely.", Alec nodded, "You can ask me everything you want to know and I'll try my very best at helping you with whatever you need help with." Suddenly, one of the girls in the baby blue leotards raised her hand, impatiently snipping her fingers. "Yes, Maddison?", Cat asked. "Why are you here and not at NYABM?", she asked. "There actually was a fire a few weeks ago so whilst they are restoring the school I get to share some of my experience with you.", Alec replied calmly. "Okay, if you have any more questions ask whilst doing the workout! I'll be sitting in the back just to make sure everything is going smoothly, but I wish you all a lot of fun together- I'm sure you'll work great together."
"Sooooo, what was it like?", Magnus yelped in excitement as Alec got rid of his shoes in the entry. "By the angel, what happened to you?", Alec exclaimed in shock, seeing most of his boyfriend covered in green glitter. "We were doing a reptile inspired shoot and the glitter just won't come off- Izzy said she'd be home in an hour and she'd bring some sort of glitter remover from the model agency." "It looks kinda cute.", Alec chuckled, carefully picking a dark green chunky glitter flake out of Magnus' carefully tweezed eyebrow. "You loved it, didn't you?", Magnus asked whilst grinning at Alec. "Guilty.", Alec laughed and dropped himself on the couch, unable to stop smiling- he couldn't remember when he had felt this at ease for the last time. "I think it just reminded me of the fact that we were supposed to dance for fun, you know? In the end, that's what we do it for." "It's easy to forget about it, you're right.", Magnus smiled and looked around Izzy's apartment. "Do you remember the first time you walked into our dorm room?", he asked dreamily. "Best feeling ever.", Alec sighed, "It felt perfect. My life felt perfect." "I want to experience that feeling again.", Magnus sighed, "I finally want my life to feel perfect again. I can't wait to graduate." "Ready to move on, huh?", Alec asked and glanced at his boyfriend sideways. "Hell yeah. I want us to get a job. Get a flat together. Maybe a pet. I want to wake up in the morning and know what my day is going to be like." "That would have sounded like a nightmare a year ago.", Alec chuckled, that warm fuzzy feeling of comfort spreading through his body- maybe they have grown out of the constant stress, new, exciting things thrown at them every day. "I'm ready to move on.", Alec smiled weakly. "You already have.", Magnus replied and Alec had never seen anyone look at him as proudly as Magnus did in that very moment on his sisters couch.
