"Long time no see!", Alec joked as he pulled Maia into a hug. Like everyone else on moving-in-day she wore Sweatpants and a hoodie as well as sneakers. "Oof, you look rough.", she laughed in response and returned the hug. "You haven't seen Magnus then.", Alec laughed, "Not only are his eyebags a lot darker than mine, he also threw up twice and took an ibuprofen for his headache." "Oh god, where's he at?", she laughed while putting her curls back into the bun they just tried escaping from. "Upstairs, I'm on my way to get the rest of his stuff.", Alec replied, lifting up a huge red bag which seemed to belong to Magnus. "Boyfriend of the year.", Maia laughed, "Is that all his stuff?" "You would wish.", Alec replied, "I carried eight bags upstairs, two of them were mine." "It's good training.", she laughed picking up two of her three bags. "I'll get the third one.", Alec offered and picked it up with his free hand. "Thank you.", Maia smiled, "I raised you right." With a laugh, he followed her upstairs and unloaded her bag in front of her room. "Do you know who your new roommate will be?", he asked and Maia nodded:" Gretel is moving into my room so Aline and Camille can share one." "Then go secure yourself your bed.", he laughed and got to his and Magnus' room. This was going to be their home for another year. Somehow, it really felt like home by now. Maybe even more than Isabelle's and his old apartment, although that was now occupied by some new people as Isabelle moved into her own place this summer. Over summer break him and Jace have helped her a lot with the furniture and like Alec expected, it looked absolutely fabulous and was quite spacious. "Room service!", he joked as he knocked at their dorm door before entering it. Magnus has closed all curtains which left the room with very dim lighting. "Magnus?", he asked as he dropped the bag in the entry. Walking into their bedroom he found Magnus on his bed, obviously sleeping. With a slight chuckle, not wanting to awaken his boyfriend Alec closed the door and started unpacking everything that didn't go in the bedroom. After arranging all of Magnus' makeup the way he usually did, Alec closed the empty bags and snuck out of the room not without leaving a note on the table saying he was downstairs and wanted Magnus to give him a call whenever he was awake.

To his surprise, there was lunch already. As always, moving in day was a mess, there were bags everywhere and everyone was looking like they haven't even changed out of their PJ's. "Hey there!", Simon greeted as he sat down next to Alec, unpacking his sandwich. "Hey you.", Alec smiled and pulled his friend into a hug. "Listen, about Isabelle.", he said with a serious note and cleared his throat:" I know you, Alec, and I know you're very protective of the ones you love, especially of Isabelle." "You have my blessing.", Alec interrupted, "Whatever the two of you do, you have my blessing. You're a good guy and I'd trust you with my own life. Do whatever the both of you feel like doing, I'm fine with it. I just need you to know that if you break her heart I'll break your neck." "Got that.", Simon laughed, "So I get a pass with your sister?" "If she let's you pass, I won't stand in your way.", Alec confirmed. "Thanks man!", Simon smiled and padded Alec's shoulder before leaving. Now it was just him again, sitting in that dining hall all by himself. People were passing him by, some in Julian's year, some completely new faces. It was bittersweet to see the new students gather their bags and run around, taking pictures of everything, so fresh, so excited. He remembered how two years ago he walked into those halls and everything was new and intimidating. It was only for now that he realized how much he had aged during those years here. Not only physically though, also mentally. He matured. At least this was what he hoped. All these new faces, fresh bodies, clean minds- they were like clay yet to be shaped. And he knew that by the end of their NYABM time they were going to get shaped, broken, put back together and finally made into statues, each different but equally beautiful. Those were going to be the best and the worst days of their lives and they had no idea about what NYABM really was about yet. "Hey, excuse me?", a girl with dark blonde hair approached him. She looked really young but must have been at least seventeen according to her voice. "Yes?", Alec replied, ripped out of his thoughts. He had never seen her face before which meant she was most probably a year one student. "It's not your first year here, is it?", she asked and Alec laughed shaking his head:" Nah, I'm a senior. Do you need anything?" It felt weird saying that. A senior. "Yes, actually, I was wondering if you could tell me what the lessons named 'N' on my timetable meant? My friend and I have no clue and couldn't find anyone here to explain it to us.", she explained. "N stands for nutrition.", he replied. "Thank you so much! I'm Alyssa, by the way.", she said, obviously relieved. "No problem. I'm Alec, if you need anything feel free to ask, I know it's intimidating the first year.", he smiled and after thanking him Alyssa left him alone with his salad and his thoughts. Just when he decided to start eating again his phone rang. A wide smile lit up his face as he saw it was Magnus on the phone. "Yes?", he asked. "I'm awake, thanks for bringing my bag up.", Magnus let him know and Alec grinned even wider, joking :" No problem, sleeping beauty." "What would I do without my hero?", Magnus joked back. "Drink less.", Alec laughed and hung up. Quickly he gathered his food and hurried up the stairs- he has had enough of the nostalgia.
