There. Much better.
School was over for the day, and she was finally able to change out of her wet and dirty uniform. She only had Felix to blame for that and vowed to get payback one day.
Humming, Seraphina left her dorm and went downstairs to the common room. She spotted Ron, Harry, Neville, and Seamus playing wizard's chess. It was Harry versus Seamus and Neville versus Ron. Neville looked so lost that Seraphina couldn't help but pity him.
Ron grinned with a cocky glint in his eyes. He was gloating, and Seraphina shook her head in distaste.
"I don't even think we need to finish the game. Cough up my five galleons, Neville." Ron held out his hand with a smirk. Neville's shoulders slumped. "It's the third time this week. My grandmother is going to kill me."
Seraphina skipped downstairs and "bumped" her hip against the table, causing the game to flip and crash onto the floor.
Harry and Seamus laughed, while Neville's jaw fell open.
Ron's face was redder than ever, and he yelled, "SERAPHINA!"
"Oh, oops, sorry. My big arse got in the way. I was just trying to give Harry a hug before I went out. Hey, Harry!" Seraphina held out an arm and bent down. Harry laughed and willingly gave her a tight hug. "Hey, Seraphina."
Seraphina turned and smiled at Seamus. "Hey, you." Laughing heartily, he gave her a hug.
"You never fail to make me laugh."
"Glad to know," she quipped and wrapped an arm around Neville. "Don't let him get to you," she whispered in his ear, and he blushed with a goofy, grateful grin. "Thanks, Seraphina."
"You did this on purpose," Ron groaned.
"Did not. And I believe he doesn't owe you anything since the game wasn't over. Later." She turned to leave when Ron shouted, "SERAPHINA BLAKEWOOD!" She stopped in her tracks, and with an exasperated sigh, she turned around. "What, Ronald Weasley?" She expected him to accuse her again, but he mumbled, "Where's my hug?"
Seraphina blinked a couple times before bursting into mirthful laughter. "One hug coming right up." She went back and threw her arms around his neck. Ron broke into a smile and encircled his arms around her.
"Sorry that my big arse ruined your game," Seraphina joked. "I'll try to cut down on pumpkin pie."
"No need. You're perfect just the way you are, Seraphina," Ron said.
"Oh, you know how to sweet talk," she laughed as she lightly punched his shoulder. "I wonder who you learned that from-"
She spun around and froze. Her smile fell off, and she stared at Fred and George who stood before her with expectant smirks. When did they get here?
Fred held out his arms with a growing grin. "Come on. Give us some of that love, too."
"Shove off," Seraphina said as she squeezed between them and ran out of there before they could catch up with her. She jumped out of the common room and looked back. Then she smiled with a shake of her head and went towards the Slytherin common room.
She really hated going anywhere near there, but Draco always came to her, so it was only fair she returned the favor.
Seraphina wrapped her arms around herself and shivered as she warily glanced around. The temperature had dropped several degrees, indicating she was closer to the dungeons. She really didn't like the gothic ambiance, which was one of the reasons why she was glad she wasn't in Slytherin. She spotted a stone wall and paused.
