Draco nervously tugged on the front of his hoodie sweater and blew his bangs out of the way. He wondered if he was trying too damn hard to impress Seraphina. He wanted to look "cooler," so he tried going for a more casual look, but honestly, he was thinking of going back and changing into his usual turtleneck sweater or black dress shirt.

But he didn't want to miss her.

What if she came when he was gone and she thought he wasn't going to show up?

He checked his watch, exhaled, and cleared his throat.

Why the hell did he feel so nervous? This wasn't like a date or anything... right?

Draco leaned against the arch and pulled his wand out of his pocket. He studied the delicate features and paused when he heard footsteps heading his way. His ears perked up with excitement, and he looked up with a smile. His expression crumbled at once when Pansy came into view.

Honestly, she's getting on my fucking nerves. I only tolerated her because her family is good friends with mine, but at this point, I'd rather deal with a Gryffindork than her.

"Go away, Pansy," Draco snarled with a warning glare.

Pansy beamed and held up two hands. "I just came to give you a letter."

Draco pointed his wand straight at her. "Leave before I set it on fire. I won't take responsibility if it burns you too."

"I don't think you want to do that. It's from the mutt."

Seraphina? Draco lowered his wand and held out his hand. "Give it."

Pansy lightly shrugged and put it in his palm. Draco opened the letter and read it in his head.

Don't bother waiting for me, Malfoy. I won't be showing up. Honestly, I'm surprised you thought I would even hang out with someone like you. You're a Slytherin and I'm a Gryffindor. We're natural enemies, and I hate the sight of you. Don't ever speak to me again.

"What does it say?" Pansy asked as she innocently twirled her short hair around her finger.

"...Where is she?" Draco darkly growled.

Pansy's eye twitched in surprise. That wasn't the reaction she expected. "What?"

Draco lifted his head and glared at her. "What the hell did you do to Seraphina, Pansy?"

Pansy grew pale. Sure, Draco had gotten mad at her plenty of times, but never like this. He was absolutely infuriated, and she knew he was just moments away from hexing her. Perhaps he would even use one of the three forbidden curses on her.

Pansy gulped and said, "I don't know-"

Draco pushed himself off the wall and grabbed the collar of her sweater. "Don't make me ask you again, Pansy. WHERE IS SERAPHINA?"

-----

Draco raced all the way down to the underground hallway. He hated how they weren't allowed to apparate yet. He would've been able to reach her a lot quicker then. His heart thumped with each step, and he skipped the few last steps.

"Bloody hell," Draco hissed when a cobweb hit him in the face. No one was even allowed down here. He shook his head and rushed towards the broom closet. He yanked open the door and darted inside.

"SERAPHINA! WHERE ARE YOU? SERA-"

He froze in his tracks and stared at the sight before him in disbelief. His eyes grew wide, and his heart sank.
