Seraphina Blakewood and Draco Malfoy were never on the best of terms... until third year when he suddenly changes his attitude towards her. His change of heart throws her off, and she's unsure whether she should welcome it or not. Dark truths and de...
The sky was gloomy and gray, and they just hoped it wouldn't start raining as well. Slowly, the stadium started to fill up with the audience.
Hermione and Ron found a spot near the front and sat down.
Hermione exhaled and looked around. "Do you see them?"
"Nope," Ron said. He glanced at her and did a double take. "Bloody hell, Hermione! Why did you bring your wand with you?"
She looked slightly guilty, but she lifted her chin up and nonchalantly commented, "There's no harm in coming prepared."
"Prepared for what?! A bloody war?!"
"You saw what happened first year."
"Quill is long gone now."
"They're here though, and who knows what they'll do to Harry and Seraphina." Hermione glared at the opposite stands where the Lagora students were excitedly chatting about today's match. "I'm not letting them touch a hair on our friends."
Ron sighed, "I don't know if I should call you admirable or crazy."

Seraphina checked her broom one more time. Once she was done thoroughly checking for any cracks or curses, she turned to look at her team.
Oliver was pacing back and forth, and Angelina finally snapped at him to sit down. Alicia looked equally nervous as well, and she sat in the corner to calm her sizzled nerves. Harry was deeply focused on calming down his nervousness, and she just knew he was worried about the dementors trespassing the field like last time. The twins were joking around, as usual, but their eyes darted around from time to time.
Seraphina wondered how Draco was doing. After all, the Slytherins were up first. Gryffindor was last in the lineup with Hufflepuff being second and Ravenclaw being third. She saw they had about 20 minutes left until the game started, so she decided to go check on him.
Grabbing her arm guards, she headed towards the Slytherin stands. She slipped on the arm guards to save some time but struggled to string them on properly.
"Hey, Seraphina."
She paused at the familiar voice and looked up. Smiling warmly, she greeted, "Hi, Cedric."

The Hufflepuff seeker was one of the most popular boys at Hogwarts. He was good-looking and nice, unlike Draco who was just (extremely) good-looking. A lot of girls liked him, and they even swooned when he politely rejected their confessions.
"Ready for the game?" "No."
Her bluntness made him burst into laughter, and she laughing along. "Well, it's all right. We're up next, so we'll try our best so you don't have to participate in the game."
"I knew I could count on you," Seraphina quipped.
Cedric chuckled but paused halfway when he saw her struggling with her arm guards. "Want me to help you out with those?" Just when he reached for them, an irritable voice snarled, "Step aside, Diggory. She doesn't need your help."
They looked up as Draco strode towards them in full quidditch gear. He came to a stop and stared at Cedric with distaste. "I got it. You can go your way."
Cedric opened his mouth but glanced at Seraphina and thought better of it. He closed his mouth, gave her a smile, and left.
"I hate him more than anyone else in this school," Draco muttered as he started to string her arm guards together.
"Why? Cedric is an angel. Ow!" She yelped when he purposely squeezed the laces together. She slapped his arm and glared at him. "That hurt!"
"Call him an angel one more time."
"And if I do?"
"You don't want to test me."
"The hell I do!" Seraphina swung her fist at him and yelped in surprise when he dodged her attack, causing her to trip and fall forward. Draco caught her just in time and encircled his arms around her so that he was holding her from behind. She froze at how close he was, and her heart drummed with a different kind of nervousness than before.
"Just stay still," Draco murmured as he started to lace her arm guard for her.
Seraphina swallowed hard but did as told. Her cheeks flushed pink at his closeness, and she tried not to breathe too loudly. His breath fanned her jaw, and she squirmed a bit. "So, um... how are you feeling?"
"I'm perfectly hunky-dorky," he snorted. "Is that what you expect me to say before a death match?"
She made a face but said, "Slytherin is going first. Aren't you nervous?"
"Might as well get it over with. You might not even end up playing."
"That confident, huh?"
"Oh, please. I can beat that Fernsby moron any day."
"We'll see about that," Seraphina chortled.
"There," Draco muttered as he made the final knot.
"Thanks..." Seraphina rubbed her arm guards and silently admitted he had a knack for tying them. The warmth of his chest radiated through her back, and she felt incredibly comfortable and soothed for a moment.
The whistle blew, notifying all players to be on standby. The game was about to start.
Seraphina turned around and faced Draco. His expression was tightly pinched together, and his shoulders were stiff with tension. He looked at her, and there was awkward silence that forced them to look away.
Should I hug him? Or say something nice? Maybe a handshake? No, that's stupid.
"Er... good luck," Seraphina finally said.
"Yeah..." He rubbed the back of his neck with uncertainty.
"Later then." She awkwardly walked away and sighed once she reached the Gryffindor team. I feel like an idiot. Whatever.
