"I really don't want to go to class today," Ron groaned.
"That's new."
"Stuff it, Seraphina. I don't need your sarcasm today."
"Why are you taking your anger out on Seraphina? She's not the one who told you to steal Fred's jelly beans and end up eating a puking pastille."
"Not you too, Harry. Please," Ron begged.
Seraphina chortled as she walked between the two. She gently patted Harry's shoulder and loudly whispered, "Let's give him a break just for today."
"Agreed," Harry said.
Seraphina giggled, and Ron rolled his eyes. "Where's Hermione anyway?"
"She's probably in class already," Seraphina replied.
"Nope. You know what she's going to do? She's going to show up out of nowhere again."
"Ron-"
"Don't Ron me!" He yelped and held out his index finger with furrowed eyebrows. "Mark my words. Something is going on with Hermione. Something... magical."
Seraphina's expression flattened. "If you forgot, Ronald Weasely, we live in a world full of magic. It'd be weird if something wasn't magical." He opened his mouth to protest, but she went behind him and pushed his back. "Now, come on. We don't want to be late for Divination."
The three of them arrived in the classroom, and Hermione waved at them from a table she had snagged next to the window. Seraphina waved back with a grin and nudged Ron in the ribs. "I told you so. You're so paranoid." Seraphina skipped off to join Hermione, and Ron's eyes narrowed with suspicion. He still couldn't shake off the feeling that Hermione was hiding a big secret from them. "Come on, Ron," Harry said, and Ron finally shuffled forward.
Seraphina plunked down in the chair across from Hermione and looked back. She did a double take when she made eye contact with Draco. One corner of his lips quirked up into a welcoming smirk. She flashed him a warm smile before starting a conversation with Hermione.
"Welcome, everyone!" Professor Trelawny's voice boomed.
"Merlin's beard!" Ron literally jumped in his seat. "She came out of nowhere! Like you, Hermione!" Hermione shushed him with a wave of her hand.
The professor came forward with a wide grin. She always looked really happy but ditzy at the same time. Seraphina didn't want to admit it, but she was probably her least favorite professor after Snape. There was nothing particularly wrong about her, but she just made her feel uneasy. It was like she was staring into her soul.
"Today, we're going to try Palmistry." Trelawney licked her lips, a habit she did often when she grew excited. Hermione made a face, and Seraphina bit her lower lip to keep from laughing out loud. "Pick a partner," Trelawney directed, and Hermione and Seraphina grinned at each other.
"Someone be Harry's partner. I don't want to tell him the grim is after him," Ron muttered, referencing the prediction Trelawney had made about Harry in the beginning of the school year.
Trelawney started to explain what to look for, and Seraphina studied the directions in the book with a frown. She didn't really get any of this prediction stuff and started to fear for final examinations. I might end up failing Potions and Divination this year. I bet it's written in my palms...
