"What am I even doing here?" Seraphina moaned in disbelief.

"Getting your weekly stash of treats, of course," Ron said as he added a box of glacial snow flakes to her basket. "You're welcome."

"Exactly," she shrieked. "I'm not supposed to be here for me! I'm supposed to be here for Draco!"

Ron made a face. "I don't know about you, Slytherina, but Malfoy doesn't exactly seem like the type who fancies sweets to me." Seraphina glared at him, and Ron backed away. "Sheesh, you're becoming more and more like a Slytherin every day. You're even dressing the part. I swear, you're wearing more green lately."

Hermione elbowed him to shut up and walked towards her best friend. "I hate to admit it, but Ron is right. I don't think Draco would appreciate sweets."

"If I'm right, why did you shove me?" Ron complained.

Hermione ignored him and suggested, "Maybe you can try a different store."

"Like what?"

"Like Dervish and Banges? Or Spintwitches Sporting Needs?" Hermione shrugged.

"You can try Zonko's. Get him some Puking Pastilles! Or better yet, Stink Pellets!" Ron laughed uproariously at the thought of Draco receiving those for his birthday.

"Great idea, Ron. I'll make sure to go there for your birthday," Seraphina quipped, making him frown. He was all for pranks, but he didn't want them for his birthday.

"He did a lot of things for me. It's only fair that I get him something really nice," Seraphina said.

"Get him something like a tablet then," Hermione said.

Seraphina shook her head. "The tablet is useless. No wi-fi here."

"'Why-figh?' What's that? Food?!" Ron's eyes sparkled with interest.

"Honestly, Ron! Is food all you think about?" Hermione made a face out of annoyance.

"He doesn't like anything to do with muggles," Seraphina said with a grimace.

"You can get him clothes! Everyone wears clothes! Both muggles and magical people." Hermione nodded.

"Maybe," Seraphina said softly.

"Incoming," Ron coughed as he zoomed out of the way.

Hermione looked up, and her eyes rounded in panic. She glanced at Seraphina before making herself scarce.

Seraphina looked back and saw Draco. He locked eyes with her, and his frown grew deeper. He didn't look particularly happy she had ditched him for her friends today. She had told him she was going to hang out with Ron and Hermione during their Hogsmeade visit this week but didn't tell him it was because she was going to shop for his birthday gift.

"Hi," Seraphina greeted.

Draco turned towards the shelves and didn't bother to look at her. "Do I know you?"

"Oh, boy." Seraphina rolled her eyes. "Really? You're going to play that immature game?"

Draco didn't reply, and Seraphina reminded him, "I thought we were friends."

Draco snorted. "Friends? Friends don't ditch each other for stupid reasons."

"I ditch my friends for you all the time, and they're not stupid reasons," Seraphina reasoned. Draco pretended to be too interested in the box of Apple Rings to hear her.
