Draco was the first to wake up.
When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was Seraphina, and his breath left him with a whoosh. Even with a discolored bruise on her face, she was beautiful. Her eyes were puffy from last night's tears, and there were a couple tear stains on her face. He was lucky not a lot of students were awake yet. He could stare at her as long as he wanted.
It was quiet, and the sun was just peeking through the windows.
Draco gazed at Seraphina and studied every single one of her facial features. His heart felt like it was going to explode, and he desperately wished he could wake up like this every day. He didn't have to wake up in a fancy bed or with a house elf attending him.
He just had to be with her.
Shit, I'm too deep...
A small part of him screamed this was wrong and he didn't deserve to like her. It warned him to back off now, but his heart wasn't listening. The sun rose a bit higher, hitting her in the face. Draco reached a hand up and held a palm over her face to block the sun from reaching it.
How could anyone be so beautiful and strong and funny and cute at the same time? She's so damn perfect... She's too flawless for my own good...

Seraphina woke up with a jolt. She opened her eyes and froze in confusion.
Draco was staring back at her, and she lifted her gaze to see his palm over her face. At first, she was baffled, but she realized he was blocking the sun from shining over her. One corner of her lips quirked upwards. She reached up and put a palm over his own face. His eyes enlarged slightly, and he whispered, "What are you doing?"
"Playing your game," Seraphina whispered.
"What game?"
"The cover-your-buddy's-face-from-the-sun game."
"What...? Oh my god, Seraphina."
Seraphina giggled but clamped a hand over her mouth. She forgot they weren't alone.
Draco's expression softened, and he whispered, "Are you okay?"
Seraphina's smile faded, and flashbacks from last night dragged her back down to the pits of darkness.
Nice job. You did that to her. You're a fucking moron, Draco. He opened his mouth but paused when the double doors opened. The professors were streaming in and waking up the ones who weren't up already. It looked like they were about to make an important announcement.
Seraphina grabbed her baseball cap and pulled it low over her face.
Draco caught her by the elbows and helped her stand up.
They stood side by side and waited for the professors to give instructions.
"Hey..." One Ravenclaw student frowned, and she pointed to her cheek. "You have something on your face..."
Seraphina ducked her head. "Oh. Um..."
Draco was quick to stand in front of her and block her from view. "Keep your bloody eyes to herself before I scoop them out and use them for next year's Halloween decoration," he snarled, causing the girl to reel back and scurry away.
"Stupid Ravenclaws are too perceptive," Draco muttered with another glare her way.
"Thanks... but that was really mean," Seraphina noted.
