"What was that about?" Draco demanded.

Seraphina shot him a warning glare. "Don't test me, Draco. I'll fight you if you say one insulting word about my friends."

Draco rolled his eyes. "I don't doubt that. What I meant was... why did you call me that?"

"Call you what?"

"My Slytherin."

Seraphina huffed, "I did not-"

She froze with widening eyes. Ah, shit. I did...

Draco smirked. "Should I be calling you my Gryffindor now."

"D-Don't say that," Seraphina sputtered. "You'll give Ron a heart attack. Let's go. I want butterbeer before we go back." She charged ahead, and he smirked before hollering, "WAIT FOR ME, MY GRYFFINDOR!"

A few heads turned, and she ducked her head before racing for the Three Broomsticks. She came to an abrupt halt when she spotted Felix heading her way. He hadn't seen her yet, but he was going to.

"Don't just stand there like an open target," Draco hissed as he grabbed her upper arm and yanked her into a dim, tight alley. "Did he see us?"

"He almost did, thanks to someone."

In response, Seraphina slapped his abdomen.

"Bloody hell. You're really violent today," Draco noted.

Seraphina ignored him and peeked over the wall. Felix was standing there with a group of friends, and she itched to hex him right then and there. Seraphina pulled out her wand and pointed it at him. "Tell me a spell that isn't illegal but will get rid of him once and for all."

Draco snorted. "If I knew such a spell, I would've gotten rid of him first."

They observed Felix for a while and silently contemplated what to do.

"Damn it. Three Broomsticks is on the other side."

"Guess you can't get your butterbeer today."

"Hell no. I'm not giving up my favorite drink because of a pompous blonde git like him."

"Can you not use the word 'blonde' to describe him?"

"Why not? Oh. Sorry. But does it really matter? Even if I take out the word 'blonde,' it still describes you."

"Hey!"

"Kidding," Seraphina snickered. "I have a brilliant idea. Change me into a stick or something and throw me over there. I'll do the same for you."

"What?" Draco gave her an appalled grimace. "Where the hell did you get such a stupid idea?"

"Did you just call me stupid?!"

"Oh, please. I said your idea was stupid, not you-"

"He's coming!"

"What? For bloody sakes!"

Seraphina pressed her back against the brick wall and clamped her mouth shut in fear that Felix would be able to hear her. Draco caged her between his arms, as if that would hide her presence from him.

Seraphina stiffened a little when she realized just how close Draco was to her. She became overwhelmed by the scent of his cologne for the second time that day, and she sucked in a sharp but silent breath. There was something about his closeness that unnerved her. It wasn't in a bad way though. All she knew was that her heart wasn't just thrashing in fear of Felix catching them. Mind spinning, she dared glance upward. Her eyes skated across his perfect nose and chiseled jawline.
