(Ravens, 33 years ago)

We first see a young boy around the age of ten, with pale cyan hair, and crimson red eyes, wearing tattered white pants and maroon shirt. He had snuck into a really nice house in the town that he lived in, Ravens. Stealthily sneaking through the halls, going from room to room, taking anything of value and putting it in the bag he brought with him. Just as he was about to sneak back out through the window that he came in from, he was spotted by one of the housemaids, who called out to the nearby guards. The boy leapt out and ran as fast as he could, the guards hot on his tail, but no matter where he would turn they would follow close behind. Seeing no other option, the boy ran out into the nearby woods, hopping to lose them within the vast amounts of trees. The men hesitated going into the forest, due to the rumors of a carnivorous beast that lurked within. But soon brushed it off and continued to chase after the young thief.

The boy ran for what seemed like hours, but was just a mere five minutes. Looking back he saw that the guards were still chasing after him. Taking a sharp turn, the forest began to be covered in a large fog. The boy kept running hoping to lose them in the fog, but the men were persistent. Shortly after, the boy was confused to feel the grassy ground he was running on turn to that of stone pavement. "Did I go back into town?" The boy asked confused, but continued running as he heard the guards getting closer. As the boy kept running, he looked back at the guards, but his movement was stopped as he had crashed into something sturdy, causing him to fall to the ground and drop his bag. When he looked up he saw a large pile of what seemed to be white fur, but there were certain parts that were shiny. He then noticed that the pile was moving slightly up and down. But his train of thought was interrupted as one of the guards grabbed him by his shirt. The guard then started to yell at the boy, to which he tried to tell them about the pile of fur but they didn't pay him any mind. Just as they were about to beat him, the pile of fur began to move, growing larger and its true form being outlined.

The four guards and the boy looked at the creature in shock and horror, as it stared at them with narrowed fuchsia red eyes. The beast scanned the scene before him, and his eyes were then focused on the guard holding the boy by his tattered maroon shirt. The guard then dropped the boy in fear and unsheathed his sword from its scabbard, as the other three followed suit, their hands and legs shaking in fear. The beast walked closer and stood above the boy protectively. The beast then let out a loud roar as the guards ran away in fear for their lives, completely forgetting about the small thief. The beast then took a few steps back and looked down at the boy. "W-What are you?" The boy asked in shock and awe. "Hmph, as if a child could possibly understand what I am." The creature spoke as it stood up and began to walk away. "I would if you tell me." The boy called out to the creature, as it suddenly stopped in its tracks. It's eyes widen at hearing the boy's response. It then turned around to look at the boy. "Y-You can understand me?" The white beast asked as the boy gave it a simple nod "Yeah, and you're a bit of an ass." The boy said with his arms crossed.

"I'm sorry, it's just... you're the first person to understand me in a long time." The creature stated confusing the boy. "What do you mean by that?" The boy asked as the creature approached the boy and sat down in front of him. "You are the first person to be able to understand me in the last 3,000 years." The creature explain, which shocked the boy. "You've been around for that long?" The boy asked in awe. "Longer than that, I've just been like this for the past 3,000 years." The beast stated. "Why?" The boy questioned.

"Because I'm cursed."

"Cursed?" The boy asked tilting his head slightly to the left in confusion. "Yes. I'm sure you've heard of the legend of the great holy war. correct?" The beast asked. "Only a little." The boy replied. "Seriously? Everyone knows that story. Who raised you?" The beast asked in confusion. "A pair of bastards that only cared about themselves." The boy stated as his brows furrowed slightly as the beast's eyes widen and then had a look of guilt and pity. "I'm sorry you had to be raised by such terrible people. But seeing from your predicament earlier, you were stealing from some higher ups huh?" The beast questioned as the boy stayed quiet. "And by the way you spoke about them, I can imagine that you ran away from home, and are stealing for yourself. correct?" The boy stayed quiet as the creature looked at him with a smirk. "I'll take it by your silence that I'm correct."
