Tempted Fate

Standing before them, the ever menacing Dawnbreaker chuckled at the sight before him. "The Mighty Salem Dawnstar, is paralized by fear." As he took one step forward, the Sins immediately stood protectively infront of Salem. "Babe. Babe look at me." Ban grabbed Salem's cheeks with his hands. "I know you're scared, but as long as we fight together we can beat him." Ban spoke as Salem took a moment to compose himself before walking past the Sins.

"I knew you wouldn't cower behind them. Not like they could stop me anyway."

"What do you know about us anyway?" Meliodas questioned.

"No! Don't engage him!"

"What don't I know." He then pointed to each of them. "Diane, you're nothing but a scared little girl, too powerless to protect the ones you love." The Giantess then fell to her knees. "Diane! What did you do to her?!" King asked enraged as Dawnbreaker pointed at him. "And what are you going to do, you useless fairy? Run away like you have done before? You're nothing if not an emberassment to the throne. You do not deserve to be the Fairy King." King then dropped to the ground next to Diane.

"King!" Gowther cried as Dawnbreaker pointed again. "Nothing but a heartless puppet, who delites in using people for its own gain." Gowther drops. "Merlin. A selfish witch, who would sacrifice anyone even her own brother, just to achieve her goals. You don't care about anyone. We're all just guinea pigs to you." Merlin falls. Escanor charged at him but was too late. "Escanor. What a weak and pathetic man. Hiding behind borrowed powers just to feel important. You are nothing. And will be forgotten." Escanor's hulking and flaming body fell down to his knees. "Meliodas. A traitor. A Murderer. A Monster that will never know true love." The blonde demon fell too.

"What's happening?" Elizabeth asked as she watched the love of her life and all her friends fall to their knees. "Vicious Mockery. If you've every heard the phrase. "The pen is mightier than the sword." Well this is it. Only by saying a few words he can bring down the mightiest of adversaries."

"That's enough Dawnbreaker!" Salem exclaimed. "Why I haven't even gotten to the best part. You." The armored man said to him. "You're nothing but a lair. A cheat. How can you call yourself a man when you abandoned your friends and family when they need you most?! All for your own selfish desires." Salem then fell aswell but he then began to chuckle. "Right back at you."

"What?" Suddenly Dawnbreaker fell to the ground too.

Soon everyone was back on their feet. "What happened? Why did he drop too?" Diane asked. "Its pretty stupid to use Vicious Mockery on yourself, right?" Salem explained. "What?!" Everyone looked on in confusion.

"Dawnbreaker is Salem Dawnstar."

Everyone's eyes widen in shock and surprise. "How's that possible?!"

"Because he is from the future. An Evil, Dark future, that may come to pass if we fail to stop him here and now."

"How are we going to fight against an Evil version of you?" "By working together." Salem stated with a smile as Dawnbreaker laughed. "By working together? Don't make me laugh." In an instant Dawnbreaker was infront of Salem, sword drawn as Salem matched him with his own. "You know why I'm here. What happens that turns you into me." "Yeah. But I'd rather die than let that happen." Salem the pushed him away as the Sins tried to attack Dawnbreaker. King used "Increase" but he blocked all the knives. Diane tried to smash him with her warhammer but he stopped it and threw it back at her.

Gowther used his "Gattling Jack" but Dawnbreaker absorbed it and fired it back at him with maximum impact. Meliodas used "1,000 Divine Cuts" but was surprised to see he was unharmed. "It didn't hurt him?" "More like didged it." The man in black stated as he grabbed Meliodas's facr and slammed him into the ground. Merlin fired "Exterminate Ray" but was met by an "Omega Beam" which overpowered her.
