"Salem you can't be serious." The Fairy said to the immortal sorcerer. "I am." Salem replied with a serious face. "Salem what you're asking us to do... it just feels like a betrayal." Ban said with a hurt expression on his face. "It's not a betrayal if I'm asking you to." Salem said as Ban and Elaine looked at each other, unsure what to do or say. "Salem, I can't do that to you." "Me neither." The two said in agreement. "I'm not asking you to have this child now. I'm just asking you to consider it." Salem stated. "Salem, why do you want us to have this child so badly?" "You don't even know what will happen if we do, or even if a Human-Fairy hybrid is even possible." Ban and Elaine asked, still unsure about the importance of their future child.
"I have seen what this child is destined for. He will be a warrior, destined for greatness. He, along with a handful of other future knights, will bring about a new era. One that will be better for all." Salem explained as a proud smile appeared on his face, surprising Ban and Elaine. "Is this kid really that special?" Ban questioned skeptically. "You have no idea..."
"Look... All I'm asking if for you to think about it and discuss it. But, just know that... whatever you choose, I will respect and support it." Salem said looking at his friend and his lover. The two in question turn to one another and after a few seconds of pondering, they nodded. "All right Salem, we'll think about it, but nothing is set in stone." Elaine replied as the white hair male let out a sigh of relief. But then he looked outside and noticed something. "Night time already?" But then he sense a powerful magical power. "Wait, this power is—" The tavern began to shake as Mamma Hawk began to run at a fast pace, they could feel and hear large explosions all around them. "What is happening?" Elaine asked in concern. "Ban! Protect Elaine!" Salem called out as Ban held Elaine in a protective embrace.
"Salem, what is happening?!" Ban questioned as Salem remained frozen in what seemed to be shock. "This presence, I haven't felt it in over 3,000 years." Salem said as the scales on his arms began to spread further throughout his body, covering his shoulders, and reaching the base of his neck. The scales flared up and became spiky, as his body was alerting to a nearby threat. Then they felt a sudden explosion as Mamma Hawk was sent flying and the three were throw across the room. Ban and Elaine were okay, but Salem slightly bruised. "Salem! Are you okay?!" Ban asked in concern. "I'm okay Ban. Just a few bumps and bruises." Salem reassured the taller male. "What was that?" Elaine asked the two as Ban placed her down on the bed. "How about we go find out." "Ban, if this is who I think it is, we need very careful." Salem warned as the two left, leaving Elaine behind.
When the two exited the Boar Hat, they looked out onto a barren and destroyed field. As their friends were faced against a new enemy. Elizabeth held onto Meliodas' unconscious body, while a weakened King held a shrunken and tiny Diane in his hand, while Gowther laid immobile on the ground. The person before them was a short old man wearing a set of clothes and rings suited for nobles with elaborate designs. He had green spiky hair, beard, and mustache, wielding a wooden staff. His demon mark is on the right side of his head, with two spiked circles connected by a line cutting through his right eye. When he opens his mouth, he shows himself to have a full set of fangs for teeth. Salem immediately recognized their threat. The old man motioned his hand downward towards the ground. The ground broke apart as a wave of cascading lava raged towards their friends. Ban quickly leapt towards them, grabbed them and jumped to safety.
"Do you all have to be such thorns in my side? First a Giant, then a Fairy, and now what?" The old man asked in an irritated tone as he turned to look behind himself towards Ban. "A Human. Got a problem with it?" Ban replied as the old man's brows furrowed. "A Human, a Giant, a Fairy, and a Goddess. These four races fought against the Demon race 3,000 years ago as their sworn enemies." The old demon stated as he summoned multiple purple fireballs above himself. "None of you should be interacting with Young Master Meliodas!" The old man exclaimed, but suddenly felt weak and his flames disappeared. "Dammit, has my body become weak after being sealed away? No, it's something else. Was it that combo move from the fairy and Gowther, perhaps? Did that arrow of light cause damage to not only my body, but my spirit as well?" The demon said questioning his sudden weakness.
