"Are You Gonna Tell Him?"

Two months later...

Since that day I had been feeling a bit better, I had started going to therapy to help me deal with the aftermath of the possession amongst other things. It was helping I think. In the past months, me and Kai had become even more close. He basically hadn't  left my side. 

I was sitting on the floor in the living room playing video games with Cole, Jay and Kai. Nya, Zane and Pixal were in town on some errands apparently. I was sitting beside Kai, we were on the same team, and beating Cole and Jay up. "

"Ha take that! " Kai shouted as he shot down Jay's character. 

" Heyyy! " Jay grumbled. 

" And a perfect score! " Kai laughed happily, turning around to give me a high five. "We did it! " 

"Hell yeah" I cried enthusiastically. Whilst Cole and Jay groaned at their defeat. 

Kai jumped up. "I'm gonna grab some more snacks? What do you want Lloyd?" 

"More chips and a fanta please! " 

" Copy that! " Kai grinned. "And Cole? Jay? What do you two lovebirds want? if I can carry it I will bring it but otherwise you will have to get up and get it yourself.''

Jay, who was sitting in Coles lap, pouted slightly, whilst Cole grinned.

"Bring the rest of the cake out please! And Jay will have baby juice. " 

"Hey! what the hell!" Jay pushed Cole away from him. "I actually want-" 

Kai cut Jay off. "Coming right up. Keep an eye on them Lloyd, don't let them kill each other whilst I'm gone." 

"Copy that." I laughed. Kai winked at me before leaving to grab the snacks. 

Kai was so cute. I couldn't stop myself thinking that lately.… 

Cole grinned at me. 

"Sooo when are you gonna tell him?" 

" Tell him what?" I asked, instantly defensive. I knew he was talking about Kai.

"Tell him you like him? You can't stop blushing and acting all sappy when he is around, which is all the time honestly, as Kai never seems to leave your side." 

"I don't know what you are talking about." I felt my face heat up. 

"You are blushing now!" Jay laughed loudly.

 "Shut up or he's gonna hear you." I muttered. 

Lloyd saw Cole and Jay exchange a sly glance. I silently groaned. I could tell from their faces they weren't gonna let this rest. 

Me and Kai were close, yes, and I will admit I DID have a bit of a crush.. okay, a pretty big crush on him, but there was no way Kai felt the same, we were just friends, best friends. And I didn't want to think about it because it kinda hurt to think that's all we would ever be...

Kai returned and handed me the Fanta and a packet of chips. He was also holding a bag of chips and a coke for himself. 

"Sorry Cole, the cake was too much for me to carry." 

"Wow what the heck Kai, but you got Lloyd what he wanted, nice to see where your priorities are." Cole teased. 

"Lloyd deserved it more, he needs to put weight on his skinny bones, you don't." Cole pouted and Kai laughed. "But don't worry, I also got Jay's baby juice."

He pulled the small juice bottle out of his pocket and chucked it over at Jay. Then he opened his packet of chips, sat down beside me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. 

"Okay so are we gonna kill these guys again or what?! " he grinned as he picked up his game controller with his spare hand, his other arm still around my shoulder. 

I blushed again, why was Kai always so affectionate like this? I grit my teeth seeing Cole and Jay's smug grins. 

Cole got up. "Actually, me and Jay have decided we will leave you guys here whilst we go to town to get our own snacks. That way I can save that cake for later, and we are going to go on a date, right Jay?" 

Jay leapt up. Clearly catching on to what Cole was trying to do instantly. "Yeah, sounds great." He opened the juice and downed it in a couple of seconds. "You two can hang out and watch a movie or something, bye!"

I glared at the both. They had not mentioned a single thing about their date plans before. Cole just winked at me, I rolled my eyes back at him. 

"Hey! What about our game?" Kai called after them. 

"We can finish it later." Cole called from the kitchen. "Watch a movie together."

"What is even up with them." Kai grumbled leaning back onto the floor.

I don't think he hadn't noticed the wink Cole had given me or the glares I had shared back at him. 

"I don't know, uhhh so did you want to watch a movie?" I asked. Despite what Cole and Jay seemed to think, I was sure Kai only saw me as a friend, besides, he liked Skylor right? I mean he didn't go visit her that much, and he never really talked about her, so I wasn't sure. But who in their right mind would truly love someone like me?? 

He deserves someone better than me anyway. 

"Yeah let's watch…hmm have any suggestions?" Kai's voice broke me out of my thoughts. 

"Uhhh.." I grabbed the remote and started scrolling through Ninjaflix.

"What about, The Dragon Prince."

"Sure, sounds cool. " Kai mumbled through a full mouth of chips. 

"Let's move to the couch." I said, getting up off the floor. 

Kai flopped onto the couch beside me.

I pressed play on the remote. 

As we watched, I opened my packet of chips also and finished my Fanta. We didn't talk much. I slowly began moving closer to Kai. Then I started feeling awkward about it. What if he thinks I like him? Will that ruin our friendship? I wasn't sure if he wanted to be too close to me…

Suddenly Kai yawned, leaned over against me and rested his head on my shoulder. My heart thumped loudly.

 I really needed to stop feeling like this..

After five minutes or so I heard a small snore, I looked at Kai. He was asleep against my shoulder. I felt myself blushing. He was so adorable. I tried to stay still in order not to wake him. I started to feel quite tired myself. We had all been helping clear up the town of Stiix in the past months, there was a lot to do after it's destruction. Today had been one of the first days we had free in a while, we had the next three days after this off. 

I yawned. I felt my eyes closing and I drifted into sleep....
