Had a crazy past few weeks, sorry for the late update...
LLOYD POV
"There you go" The female waiter said, giving us a quick smile and knowing look as she placed the milkshake, with the double straws sticking out of it, on the small round table we had chosen.
"Thanks." Kai replied. The girl gave us a sweet smile before returning behind the counter. I looked around the Cafe again. It was painted pale yellow and white inside, and there was a large chalk board on the wall behind the counter which contained the lists of all the stuff you could order. Sadly doughnuts were not included, so we had settled for just a strawberry milkshake. There was only one other couple at the Cafe, and they were seated outside, which was a shame because I would have preferred to be outside, but they had taken up the only seats. It wasn't a very big Cafe. There was only three tables, thankfully it wasn't busy.
I looked back at Kai to notice he was staring at me, smiling with a dumbly adorable expression.
"What's up?" I giggled.
"Just thinking about how this is our seventh cliche date." he grinned.
"What were the first six?" I laughed as I gazed at the strawberry milkshake. I wanted to drink it already, it looked delicious.
Kai rattled off a list almost at once.
"Going to the movies, buying icecream together, going skating, getting ice-cream again, then going to the beach, coming to this Cafe, and then the seventh, finally ordering a milkshake, with the double straws."
"That's cute, now I almost feel bad that I haven't taken you to a fancy restaurant yet, so we could add that to the list." I grinned.
"Can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be than here." he replied softly. His voice made my heart race, I took hold of one of the straws sitting in the milkshake and twirled it around in my fingers.
This doesn't feel real.
I want it to be real.
Surely I'm not this lucky.
"Earth to Lloyd?" Kai asked suddenly, waving a hand in front of my face.
"Just thinking about my beautiful boyfriend who I've taken on a date." I said cheekily.
Kai looked flustered.
"Hey! I'm supposed to be the one taking you on this date!" he exclaimed.
"But I paid for it." I said with a grin. "So that makes me the one who's taking you on a date."
"You literally wouldn't let me pay!" Kai exclaimed. I pulled a face at him.
I'm obviously not making him pay after everything he has done for me.
"You look so handsome, then you go and pull faces and it just looks cute. I can't even be mad about it." Kai said sullenly. Then he leaned over the table slightly. "Guess we should try the milkshake."
He's so cute.
I burst into laughter at Kai's sulky expression.
"I can't believe we are doing this. " I giggled. "We are idiots."
Kai ran his hand through his hair. "Speak for yourself, I'm pretty good at this sort of thing, cliche dates, it's a gift but it's also my curse."
Idiot.
I bit my lip to stop myself bursting into laughter again.
"Right, and since you were counting and all, does that really mean you consider the past few days we have spent together as dates?"
Kai went red in the face, his hands began fumbling with a napkin on the table.
"No, well sorta, I was trying to confess to you all those times.."
