Lloyd pov

I awoke to a sharp pain pulsing in my skull.

Groaning as my stomach churned, I swallowed hard. My mouth was parched and it tasted strange.

I tried lifting my arms, but they didn't want to move. My whole body was like a dead weight.

So tired

I uncurled myself slowly and rolled so I was laying on my back. I forced open my eyes.

The first thing I noticed as my vision cleared was the fairy lights dancing above my head, beautiful shades of red, green and blue.

Last thing I remembered was curling up next to Kai, his warmth keeping me safe, but as I turned over to reach out for him, all I got was cold, empty space.

I was alone.

I sat up abruptly, looking around. Then I looked down at myself, staring in bewilderment at the clothes I was wearing.

These aren't mine

I felt a trickle of horror down my spine, looking upon my arms with a sudden clarity at just how many scars were there.

That's kinda ridiculous. Why'd I cut them so many times?

Willing my brain to focus, I began to gain a faint recollection of the events from last night.

Kai gave me the clothes

The clothes smelt soft and clean, with the familiar, warm and comforting scent of Kai still lingering upon them.

I wrapped my arms around myself.

Where did he go?

I looked over at my bedside table for my phone. It wasn't there.

Where did I put it? I hope I didn't leave it somewhere last night.

But I was too exhausted to care if I had.

I noticed a glass of water, and a small bottle of orange juice sitting on the bedside table. Leaning over to get a closer look. I saw there was a small strip of paper pinned beneath the bottle. It was a note in Kai's handwriting.

Kai ❤

A small smile broke across my lips.

Taking hold of the bottle, I opened it and took a few sips. My stomach churned again and I swallowed hard.

Don't throw up, don't throw up.

I clutched my sides, holding back the wave of nausea.

I really shouldn't have gone drinking.

As I was taking another sip, I heard footsteps approaching my door.

instinctively I bunched myself up, hiding as much of my arms as possible, the juice bottle clasped tightly in both my hands.

Please be Kai.
