Trigger warnings again, as always
Sorry this chapter is a bit late! My life has been crazy.

KAI POV

I pulled up in front of the quaint little clothes shop, Manikins stood displaying jackets and costumes, filling the two front windows. The name "The Clothesline." Custom clothing and modifications was such a terrible name, it usually made me laugh whenever I saw it, but not today, instead, I was cursing myself under my breath.

Why didn't you tell him? you idiot.

I had been cursing myself silently since I left Lloyd for his appointment. I had been presented the perfect opportunity to say something to him today, so many times, but I freaked out.

You idiot. You idiot.

I stared at the shop standing in the middle of the sidewalk repeating the angry thoughts in my mind over and over, until I finally decided it was enough.

Time to get this jacket sorted out.

I walked inside and was greeted warmly by someone I knew, a girl named Harriet. Although I always called her Harry. She was about my age and had a part time job here, working for her grandmother who owned the shop. I knew her from my time at the fight club. She used to visit it often. She also had another part time job down the road at the skateboard shop which is where I had brought a lot of my jackets.

"Kai! It's been a while! You asshole why haven't you come to visit me?" Harry grumbled. She was nearly my height, skinny but muscular, a colorful tattoo of a dragon down her right arm. Her ears were full of piercings and she had a lip and tongue piercing too. Her brown hair was shaved on one side and styled. She was wearing purple lipstick and eyeshadow and looked overdressed even for someone working in a clothing shop.

I grinned as I chucked the satchel upon the counter. I also used to come here often to get upgrades on my fighting ring suits, so Harry was quite familiar with me.

"I've been busy, ninja work." I waved my hand dismissively. "And now, I got work for you to do Harry."

"It's been like, a year at least!" Harry cried, still seemingly shocked to see me again. "Wu has been in a few times, to get you guys new suits, back to being a ninja hey?" She leaned over the desk and lowered her voice." I heard you gave up being a player at the fight club?"

"What are you talking about? What fight club?" I said jokingly. The job I had at the fight ring had been highly illegal. It had been shut down shortly after I left. I was careful when I talked about it, I knew Harry was alright though, she wasn't going to out me. But I didn't feel like talking about it.

I wanna leave the memories of it behind.

"Right right, so, what can I do for you?" Harry asked, taking the hint.

" This." I pulled the jacket out of the satchel. "I want to get it modified, one sec." I grabbed my phone from my pocket and found an image of Lloyd's elemental symbol surrounded by a dragon.

"See this?" I showed her the picture. "Just simply slap a fabric patch of this picture on the back of it. And give it some cool green trims somehow I don't know."

"A cool green dragon, gotcha. That's easy as, why though? Joining a green dragon gang?"

"What? No, it's a birthday gift." I responded. "So you better do a good job, you know I always pay top dollar too, don't let me down." I grinned.

Harry's eyes widened.
"A birthday gift? Wow didn't know you cared this much about your friends Kai, where was my birthday gift? Did you forget about me? My birthday was last month! "
