i probably mentioned this before, but i love these poems because of the story arc to them. reading them back now and watching the progression unfold is super fun to me :) let me know what you guys think of this little collection so far! p.s. check out my ONC novella!!

at putting my

thoughts into words

at least not into

words that i say

i keep my emotions

all bottled up

a cork in the

top

the way there seems

to be a cork in my

mouth

when i want to

speak up

when i

talk to you

my tongue is

tied

and butterflies

run wild

in my veins

like a

storm

i can hear

every

pounding

beat

of my heart

like

thunder

or a

hurricane

an earthquake

your eyes are

otherworldly

and your smile

is ethereal

i think i'm

in love with you

but i'd never

say it

i'd just hide it

watch you

fall in love

with some other

girl or guy

and watch you

slip away

through my

fingers

and i wouldn't even

try

to keep you

caged

with me

because you

deserve to

fly free

like swans

when they're

quite finished

afternoon

at the lake
