are you one of the

lonely people?

lost even when you're

found

forever

traipsing

through life

alone

because you feel

misunderstood

are you one of the

lonely people?

a wandering

soul

that is yet to find

peace

perhaps there is

no peace

in life

it is always a

journey

perhaps there is

no real understanding

between

people

only sympathy

and empty

wishes

are you one of the

lonely people?

a smiling face

but a broken

heart

speaking of

miracles

though you've never

seen

anybody

walk on water

or part the sea

speaking of

fairytales

though you've never

seen

true love

or happy endings

are you one of the

lonely people?

watching from

a window

as life

drives away

opportunities that you

passed up

because you

didn't have the energy

to try

painting pictures

of forests

filled with corners

and crevices

as dark as your

soul

as dark as your

mind

always heading

somewhere

though you're not

quite sure

where "somewhere"

is

are you one of the

lonely people?

singing along to

love songs

though you don't

believe

you'll find love

yourself

reading stories

about people who

found

self love

happiness

belonging

and knowing that

life does not

have that

in store for

you

are you one of the

lonely people?

an endless line of

questions

filling your mind

to make up for

the people

you should be

thinking about

pausing in

doorways

to watch as

fate

hands you another

chance

at love that you

ignore

because loneliness

is all you

know

are you one of the

lonely people?

you spend your

hours

writing prose

and reading it

as if that could

make up

for the hole

in your heart

as if that could

heal

whatever

wound you are

nursing

are you one of the

lonely people?

because it's

okay

to be lonely

and one day

you might just

find

that fate has

handed you a

lonely person

to love
