it's like you can
feel
your heart
break
your stomach
drops
through the ground
straight to hell
which you're
sure
is a better place
than this
swallow the
lump
in your throat
blink back the
tears
ignore the
all-consuming
pain
perhaps it was a
rejection
you cared
too much
about someone who
cared
too little
or maybe it was
cheating
stolen kisses
in parking lots
so you wouldn't
see
it could've been
words
that sliced your
heart up
the way you
slice
your
skin
but whatever it
was
makes you want to
hide
to cry yourself
to sleep
you can feel
your heart
tear
in
two
and you
wonder to yourself
just briefly
before it all
falls apart
how the
hell
you're going to
put yourself
back together
this
time
