    Donghae is a pretty well-behaved little... Unless he has candy. He doesn't do anything too bad, he just forgets a couple of rules such as no running in the house, don't yell when you're in the same room, things like that. He also has boundless energy. This is why his caregiver, Eunhyuk doesn't allow him to have candy too often.
    Tomorrow was Donghae's birthday though.
    Of course, big Donghae had asked for things that they had gotten, but little Donghae... He had asked for stuffies and candy. That was it. Unfortunately, Eunhyuk knew that meant he was getting a ton of candy today. His friends had informed him of this, wanting to spoil the little on his big day, without any regard to the aftermath.
    The close-knit group of ten was planning a surprise. Unfortunately, the others had informed Donghae that they were busy, and only had time to drop off presents and say hi. This, of course, bummed Donghae out some, but not enough to ruin his mood. The surprise, however, was that they had invited one of his close little friends, Sehun, to spend the day with him.
    The excitement for the coming day had the little buzzing and hard to put down for a nap, much less actual bedtime. "Darling, you're gonna have to go to bed. Look at the time," Eunhyuk said, pointing to his phone screen. "But I don't wants to!" Donghae whined. "It's my birthday tomorrow!" Eunhyuk sighed, caving and letting the little stay up an extra ten minutes.
    After that, putting him to bed was easy with a little convincing.

    "Donghae, sweetheart, wake up!" Eunhyuk called from the doorway. Donghae stirred, slowly sitting up and stretching. His caregiver walked over, sitting on the edge of the bed and running his hands through the little's messy hair. Realization hit Donghae quickly, his eyes widening, a bright smile appearing on his face.
    "It's my birthday!"
    The sudden shout had Eunhyuk flinching. Any other day he would've reminded Donghae about inside voices and whatnot, but today is a special day. "That's right, it's your birthday!" The little did a happy dance, wiggling around with that bright smile of his. "When you're done, I have chocolate chip pancakes and whipped cream fresh made."
    This had Donghae up and pulling Eunhyuk into the kitchen by the arm. "Faster, hurry!" he whined. They were going too slow for his liking. "Alright, alright!" The two finally got to the kitchen, which was filled with the smell of pancakes much to Donghae's delight. "I can please have some?" Smiling softly at his little, who was looking up at him with sparkling eyes, Eunhyuk nodded.
    The two's meal was filled with light chatter about what they were going to do. "I wanna go to the park! An', an' shopping!" the little rambled excitedly. Eunhyuk was going to have a lot of work to do today. "Take a breath sweetheart, I don't think you breathed for a whole minute! We can do those things but first... Don't you wanna see your friend?"

    "Really?" Donghae asked for the fifth time, eyes bright as he watched his caregiver tie his shoes for him. Due to their different schedules, the two hadn't gotten to get together for a while. The little was beyond excited. "Yes, really sweetie." Standing up, Eunhyuk straightened out the stray hairs on his little's head, smiling at Donghae. "Now, let's go or we'll be late!"
    By the time they got to the meeting place, there were about five minutes left. "Where is Sehunnie? Where is he?" Donghae asked hurriedly, looking around the sparsely populated park. Eunhyuk had spotted the two he was looking for when they first arrived, watching Sehun search the park as well. Then the littles spotted each other.
    All of a sudden, Donghae was running as fast as he could toward Sehun, who was doing the same. When the two collided, they lost their footing and fell to the ground in a happy, giggling mess. Eunhyuk made his way over, a bright smile on his face at the sight of his little so happy. "Hey, Eunhyuk!" Looking up, the caregiver saw Jongin standing on the other side of the heap of hugs.
    "Hey, Jongin, how have you been?" The two talked for a while, eventually moving to a bench so they could chat and watch their littles play. "Thanks again for helping with the surprise," Eunhyuk said to Jongin, who smiled and looked at their littles. "It's no problem. Plus, it's worth it to see their smiles."
    When the four got back to Eunhyuk and Donghae's apartment, it was time to open presents. Of course, Donghae got a butt-load of candy. Being the caring little he is, he shared some of it with Sehun. "Thank you!" the younger squealed, having been given a lollipop and some chocolate. "You're welcome!"

    Why Eunhyuk didn't suck it up and say no to extra candy is a mystery yet to be solved. "Donghae, sweetheart, my beautiful boy... Can we please get ready for bed?" Donghae pouted and shook his head. It was about eleven at night, and the little was still full of energy. "Please?" Eunhyuk pleaded, hoping that, if he asked enough, Donghae would give in.
    "No!" Donghae whined. "I wanna play!" Eunhyuk groaned, knowing he brought this on himself. "It's not my fault I got to eat more candy!" the little said sassily. One look from Eunhyuk stopped the sass in its tracks, though. "Alright. Thirty more minutes and then it's bedtime!"
    Just as the caregiver had hoped, ten minutes later Donghae was almost passed out over his coloring page. "Time for bed, sweetheart," Eunhyuk called, pulling the sleepy little to his feet. Donghae made sounds of protest but walked with Eunhyuk to their room nonetheless. Once they had gotten situated in bed, Eunhyuk placed a soft kiss on Donghae's forehead. "Goodnight sweetie, I love you..."
    "I love you too..."
