⚠TW: homophobia, abuse⚠
So so so sorry I forgot to add the trigger warning when I first posted! Was looking back on some chapters and realized.
Requested by fanficsarenotreal hope you enjoy!Seonghwa was home alone, which shouldn't have been a bad thing. He hadn't slipped by himself in a while, so the members thought he'd be fine. Hongjoong, Yeosang, and Jongho had gone to get groceries. Yunho, San, Wooyoung, and Mingi were recording at the studio. Seonghwa didn't have anything to record and didn't want to go grocery shopping.
The little one had lazed around for a bit before deciding to take a nap, he was tired from yesterday's dancing. Seonghwa entered his room, changing out of his jeans and t-shirt and into a hoodie and some shorts. Climbing into bed, he pulled his blanket over his body and slowly started drifting off to sleep.Seonghwa woke up in a familiar room, in a familiar house, one he'd grown to hate. Today was the day. Today, he was coming out to his father. The teen was terrified of his reaction, knowing he wasn't all too accepting of the community. He hoped that by coming out he could change that about his father.
Walking down the hallway toward the living room Seonghwa could hear the TV. As soon as he'd entered the room, his mom had noticed. She had already been told her son's sexuality and wasn't partial to the idea of telling her husband. She knew how he truly was. Mrs. Park had spent many a night protecting her son from Mr. Park's true nature.
But this was something Seonghwa was adamant about doing.
Clearing his throat to get his father's attention, the teen's nerves grew. Mr. Park paused the show he was watching, turning his attention to his son. "Dad, I need to talk to you about something. Something serious," Seonghwa said. His father raised an eyebrow, a silent "go on". Taking a deep breath, he spoke. "I don't know any way to sugarcoat or even say this...
I like men. I'm gay."
Seonghwa watched as his father's face started gaining color. Looking from his cheeks to his eyes, the teen saw nothing short of anger and resentment filling them. Tearing up, he looked to his mom for help. "Now, dear-" One look from her husband shut her up quick. Standing up, Mr. Park walked over to his son.
"Dad?" Seonghwa didn't know why he backed away, but he did. "You disgust me." Baffled, Seonghwa let his tears run. "I don't under-" "You disgust me! You're filthy! Ungrateful! I can't believe this! My son! Gay!" Mr.Park was screaming in his son's face, spit flying from his mouth to Seonghwa's cheeks.
The teen was frozen, he didn't know what to say. "You're sleeping outside." Mrs. Park tried to intervene, a raise of her husband's hand stopping her. "Let's go." Seonghwa shook his head, scared of his father at that moment and so many more to come. Mr. Park raised his hand, bringing it down across his son's face.
Seonghwa stumbled but didn't lose his footing. Looking up at his father with hurt-filled eyes, the teen let out a sob. "Why?" "No one's ever going to love you! They're all going to leave you!" Grabbing his son's arm tightly, Mr. Park roughly led him toward the back door. "Dad! You're hurting me!"
"Move!"As soon as Seonghwa hit the ground of the backyard he woke with a start. Tears were running down his face and he immediately realized he was in little space. He wanted someone to hold him and tell him everything was going to be alright. The little one got out of bed and went to find someone, not realizing no one was home.
Stumbling down the hallway, Seonghwa tried to find his caregivers to no avail. "Dada?" he called quietly. When no answer came, he repeated himself loudly. "Dada!" Still no answer. Rushing into the living room and almost falling, Seonghwa looked around, starting to panic. "Hyungie!" he yelled.
Getting no response, Seonghwa slipped even deeper, knowing no one was home. Usually, Hongjoong and the others would come running if he called like that. Sobbing loudly and on the brink of a panic attack, the little thought of the worst. What if they all left? Just like your father said they would? he thought.
Just then, through his loud cries and snot and tears, Seonghwa heard the door open. "Seonghwa!" Turning around, he was met with the sight of Hongjoong, Yeosang, and Jongho, the latter two holding grocery bags. Hongjoong was rushing over to him, the little collapsing into his arms the moment he reached him. "Dada!"
Hongjoong used all of his strength to move Seonghwa to the couch, where he sat with him until his cries started to quiet down. "It's okay Hwa... You're okay baby..." By the time Seonghwa had finished crying Jongho and Yeosang had put the groceries in the kitchen to be put away later.
"What happened, baby?" Seonghwa looked down at his fingers, picking at his cuticles. Hongjoong noticed this and gently took his little's hands in his. "Can you tell Dada what happened?" he asked again. Seonghwa let out a shaky breath. "I had bad dream... 'Bout the mean man... He said no one gonna love me, that everyone gonna leave me... And then I couldn't find no one."
"I'm sorry baby, we should've left someone here or taken you with us," Jongho said. Seonghwa didn't reply, laying his head on Hongjoong's chest and yawning. "Is my baby sleepy?" Hongjoong asked, running his fingers through Seonghwa's hair. The little nodded, barely able to keep his eyes open.
Jongho picked Seonghwa up out of Hongjoong's lap, carrying him to his bedroom and laying him down. Yeosang tucked him in with his favorite stuffie. Hongjoong got in bed with the little, the other two turning off the light and leaving the room. "Goodnight baby, I love you," Hongjoong said. "I love you too," Seonghwa whispered.
