"Not right now!" Sungjin harshly whispered to himself. The boy was currently hidden away in a bathroom near his band's practice room. He'd been in the middle of a practice session when he needed to slip, almost immediately calling for a break. The band as a whole needed a break, as they were on edge with the approaching comeback. He felt the need to call a break when Jae snapped at Wonpil for accidentally pressing the wrong key during Congratulations.
Finally having pushed back the urge to slip, Sungjin made his way back to the practice room. Before he even opened the door, he could hear the raised voices.
    "It's not my fault!"
"Yes, it is! You're the one who pressed the key!"
"Well, maybe if you stayed on tempo! I wouldn't get distracted!"
"I was staying with the tempo!"
Opening the door, Sungjin braced himself. "Guys, I can hear you from outside the door." When he spoke, all of the others looked to him. "So what?" Jae said. Sungjin sighed, raking a hand across his face. "So quiet down and stop arguing. He messed up, we all do it sometimes. There's also no reason to jab at each other. I get that you're tired, we all are-"
"Oh, you get that we're tired? What do you do other than pluck some strings?" Jae said loudly, cutting Sungjin off mid-sentence. There was a feeling of slipping again. "I'm the leader," Sungjin responded, voice ever so slightly shaking. "Wow, good for you! You're the leader! And what do you do as the leader again? I can't remember." Here's something you should know, Jae wasn't trying to be mean. He couldn't help it, he was frustrated out of his mind and saying things he didn't mean.
    But Sungjin didn't know that.
Tears built up in the little's eyes at the mean words. "I'm trying my best!" Sungjin yelled back. Jae and the others looked startled for a moment. Sungjin isn't one to raise his voice and is usually soft-spoken. Dowoon stood up from his seat at his drums. "Stop yelling!" he said loudly. Dowoon hates angry yelling. Tears fell down Sungjin's face at a rapid pace, the boy quickly falling into headspace.
The rest of his band members were confused to see their leader crying. "Hey, why are you crying?" Brian asked, standing up and walking over to him. Sungjin grew terrified due to many facts. He's an idol, he's a bandleader, he doesn't know if his members will be supportive. All of these thoughts ran through the little's head, causing more tears to run down his cheeks.
None of his bandmates knew what to do. They stood around confused for a minute, Brian putting a hand on Sungjin's shoulder hesitantly. The little flinched before leaning into the touch. After a second, though, Sungjin turned completely and wrapped his arms around Brian. "Sungjin, what happened?" Dowoon asked. Jae looked guilty as he watched his friend crying, knowing it was most likely his fault.
The confusing part was, Jae got like this whenever they were stressed. He said mean things, but almost always apologized immediately. Sungjin had never cried before, no one had. They all knew better than to take his words to heart.

But little Sungjin didn't know that.
The group stood around awkwardly, confused out of their minds. Once Sungjin was reduced to sniffles and hiccups, Brian tried again. "What happened?" he asked, running his hand up and down the boy's back. "Jae's bein mean..." Sungjin said quietly. Brian looked to Jae, who was red in the face and looking anywhere but at anyone's faces. "You know... I didn't mean it... And I'm sorry..." the oldest said, putting a hand on the back of his neck.
Sungjin sniffled, fully in his headspace now, and turned to face his friend. "Promise?" Jae looked at the group's leader, perplexed, as Sungjin held out his pinky. "I think he wants you to pinky promise," Wonpil said, gesturing from the outstretched hand to his own pinky. Jae raised an eyebrow in confusion, but something about the look in Sungjin's eyes made him slowly reach out his hand and entwine their fingers.
A slight sparkle made its way into Sungjin's small smile. "We go home now?" the little asked, yawning. "You're the leader..."

When they got home, Sungjin went straight to his room to take a nap. The other four gathered in the living room, trying to figure out what was going on. "He's acting weird. Well... weird-er," Brian said, getting nods from around the room. "What do you think-"
"I'm too lazy for 'what do you think's. Let's just ask him when he wakes up." Everyone looked at Dowoon, the one who seemed to own the brain cell for the day. Nods once again went around the room, and they waited for their leader to get up.
Back in the bedroom, Sungjin wasn't asleep at all. He'd suddenly come out of headspace, thoughts flooding his head as he remembered what had happened. "Why am I such a crybaby?!" he whispered to himself. Taking a deep breath, he headed towards the door. He thought I should face this head-on, better now than later. So, he opened the door and walked down the hallway. "Guys...?" Wonpil, Dowoon, Brian, and Jae all looked to the little, who stood awkwardly at the entrance of the living room.

    Here we go...

Once Sungjin had explained what a little was, and that he was one, he wasn't anything but accepted. "Thank you guys so much!" Happy tears made their way into Sungjin's eyes and down his face, his bandmates gathering around for a group hug.
"From now on, we'll take care of you!"
