A day off sounded like heaven. It sounded like the best thing in the world at the moment, but it was unlikely to happen. See, Jungwon has been extremely stressed as of late and all he wants is a day off. He wants to be able to slip for more than an hour or two, only to catch up on sleep. He wants to spend a day with his caregivers.
Right now, he wants a lot of things.
However, no matter how much he wants it, Jungwon knows a day off is somewhere in the unseen future, a day that could be close or far. So, for now, he's just trying to do his best until that day comes. For example, he's stopped complaining to his group mates about not having a day off in a while, opting to just keep it to himself at this point.
What he doesn't know though, is that his members were planning something. Heeseung, Jungwon's main caregiver, had noticed how stressed their little was becoming. He'd talked to the others about it, the six coming up with a plan. Heeseung had gone to their managers and gotten them a day off with no cameras, no staff, nothing. The six were excited to surprise their little."Jungwon! Time to get up!" the little sat up in his bed, rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, and looked around the room groggily. Yawning, Jungwon checked the time on his phone. He was suddenly wide awake at the fact that it was thirty minutes past when they were supposed to be at practice.
"Sh-" Jungwon cut himself off as he remembered the somewhat strict "no cursing" rule. "-oot. Shoot." Getting up and throwing on his clothes that he'd laid out the night before, the little wasted no time in grabbing his bag and heading out of his room. Jungwon rushed out into the living room, setting his bag down to go get his shoes.
"Wonnie? What are you doing?" Pausing and turning around, Jungwon looked up at Heeseung. "Putting on my shoes. Tell the guys that we're late and to hurry up." Heeseung chuckled, placing a hand on the little's shoulder. "Won, come to the living room." Jungwon sighed and got up after tying his shoes.
"We really don't have time for whatever this is. Did you know it's over thirty minutes past when we were supposed to be at practice?" Heeseung nodded, leading the little toward the living room. "I know," he said with a smile. Jungwon was confused, even more so when he saw his group mates lazing about in the living room.
Heeseung cleared his throat, causing the others to look at him. "Surprise!" They shouted out of sync once they spotted Jungwon. "I talked to our managers and got us an off day!" Heeseung exclaimed. Jungwon stood frozen for a second, letting the information sink in, before a large smile spread across his face.
Fighting off his little space so he could find out what they were going to do, Jungwon turned to Heeseung. "Are you serious? We aren't ditching, are we?" Heeseung shook his head, smiling from ear to ear. "What are we gonna do? Are we going somewhere? Are we doing anything?" Jungwon's smile mirrored Heeseung's, the little excited out of his mind.
"We're going to the zoo!"As soon as he'd been told they were going to the zoo, Jungwon had slipped. It had taken another ten minutes for Heeseung to wrestle the excited little into a different outfit, thirty to eat, and a not-so-short car ride to get to the zoo. Heeseung was now talking to Jungwon about staying with the group and not wandering off.
"So stay with me, okay?" Heeseung finished, fixing the bucket hat and mask Jungwon was wearing. All of them were wearing something that obstructed the view of their faces, they are idols after all. "C'mon, let's go!" Jungwon took hold of Heeseung's hand, the group making their way to the entrance of the zoo.
While Jay paid Jungwon bounced on the balls of his feet impatiently. "Alright! We're good to go!" No sooner had Jay said this than Jungwon had dragged Heeseung into the zoo. "I wanna see the lions!" Jungwon squealed. "Slow down babe, don't run," Heeseung said, tugging on the little's hand lightly. Jungwon whined, looking back at his caregiver but listening nonetheless.
Once they made it to the lion den, Jungwon was in awe. His eyes held an extra sparkle that his group mates hadn't seen in a while. It brought smiles to their faces to know they helped bring that sparkle back. "Look Seungie!" Jungwon exclaimed, pointing at a rather large lion with a beautiful mane.
"I see!" Jake and Sunghoon were the designated picture takers of the group for the day, the two taking the best pictures they could take. They would have Sunoo take pictures, but that would result in about a billion selfies instead. They wanted pictures of Jungwon as this was his first trip to the zoo, and with them of all people.
Jungwon was fascinated by the lions, never having seen them in real life before. "Look! They really big! They say "rawr", right Seungie?" Jungwon asked, turning to Heeseung with bright eyes. "That's right babe!" Jungwon giggled, not showing any signs of boredom though they had been standing there for a while.
There weren't many people there, kids at school, parents at work, etc., so they let Jungwon be as loud as he wanted. "Wonnie, baby, don't you wanna see the other animals?" Riki asked after a bit. Jungwon's eyes lit up again as he remembered there were other animals to be seen. "Monkeys! We gotta go see monkeys!"
After looking at every animal in the zoo, Jungwon insisted on it, The group was now in an ice cream shop. "Thank you for taking me to the zoo! I had lots and lots of fun!" Jungwon said. A chorus of "You're welcome"s went around the table, Heeseung wiping ice cream from the little's nose.
