"It's not whether animals will survive, it's whether man has the will to save them." — Anthony Douglas Williams ~ Inside the Divine Pattern

The world is full of amazing creatures, and our planet is the home to all the life forms we know. These life forms come in different shapes and sizes. World Wildlife Day is celebrated annually on March 3rd, and this year's theme is Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet.

This year's World Wildlife Day theme is dedicated to highlight the forest, its species and the ecosystem's services in maintaining the livelihoods of millions of people globally. Thanks to the ecosystem, 200-350 million people living within the forests rely on the services provided by the ecosystem to their basic needs, foods, shelter, energy and medicine.

The story of World Wildlife Day goes back to March 3rd, 1973 when the United Nations assembly stood up to protect endangered species. This includes all life, plant or animal, in hopes of bringing awareness to the hundreds of different species that are endangered every year and the rapid progression towards extinction.

In 2013 another step was taken towards the awareness of our endangered wildlife. On December 20th, the UN declared World Wildlife Day would be dedicated to a new purpose every year. This is to keep the world aware of the changing nature and everything we stand to lose if we don't care for our plant and animal kingdoms.
