On this profile, we always strive to present you the best stories you can possibly find on this platform. And today, we're starting the series with the genre winners of The Ambys 2021, presented by the Ambassadors!
In this chapter, we're happy to introduce you tuesdead, the author of "and if we can just move past this heartache"; a story which won the fanfiction category in The Ambys 2021.
Yamato starts coughing on Turtle Island. He hadn't wanted to believe the curse was real, but here he is. He has fallen in love and there are flower petals in his lungs to prove it.
This is why Aoba insists that Yamato doesn't go outside when they're attacked--he's here to protect Naruto, but somehow, it's Naruto that ends up protecting him.
✩
If you had to describe your writing self in three words, what would they be?
Dedicated, passionate, and enthusiastic.
✩
For the Ambys, have you revived a story/idea you haven't finished in the past, or have you started a new one to participate?
This story was one that I had just completed! It was one that I wrote very quickly so it just kind of fell into the time frame for the competition.
✩
What are your writing habits? Do you tend to write in the morning, in the evening, or anytime during the day? Do you listen to music while you write?
I write whenever I can, wherever I can. If I'm out and about, I write on my phone or I take my laptop with me. It fills a lot of downtime during travel and in between tasks, plus it keeps my mind busy. And I'm always listening to music when I write, it helps keep me focused.
✩
How would you describe your main character(s) from and if we can just move past this heartache?
I would say both Yamato and Naruto are devoted to their jobs and both have big hearts. Yamato is reserved but kind while Naruto is strong-willed and wise for his years.
✩
Who's your favourite character from and if we can just move past this heartache? Would you say you have anything in common with this character?
For this story in particular, my favorite character is Yamato; it's the first time I've written something with Yamato as the main focus. I like to think I'm a bit like him, too. I tend to be reserved and often keep my thoughts to myself.
✩
Do you hide any secrets/snippets from your own life in your stories?
Not intentionally. If anything, it's that I might write scenarios and themes I wish to manifest in my life—that could be anything from a healthy love life to a well-paying job.
✩
What is it you like the most about writing on Wattpad?
I suppose I like the community and I like that this site is used for more than fanfiction. When I finally get around to finishing my book, this is where I'll publish it first.
✩
Who is your favourite Wattpad writer? Did they influence your writing journey?
I don't have one, though I do recommend RubixCube89201's series The Good Girl's Bad Boys, which won the Watty's a few years back. It's been quite a while but I still think about the book every once in a while. I'm also a fan of MirielOfGisborne, who wrote a wonderful fanfic for The Hobbit called Days of Agony that I read a few years ago, as well.
✩
What Wattpad story/stories are you currently reading?
Currently, I'm working my way through Times Change (Vampire Academy fanfiction) by TeresaSullivan427.
✩
If you could tell your younger writer-self anything, what would it be?
Don't throw anything away, and never stop writing. When I was younger, maybe around 15 years old, one of my friends convinced me I should get rid of a bunch of old stories I had written. I threw away notebooks and stacks of loose-leaf paper that contained stories I wrote from the time I was nine years old. I can never get those back, so if I could tell the younger me back then anything, it would be to keep it all.
✩
That was all from tuesdead! We thank you again for working with us on this interview and congratulations on the win!
