What's the first thing that comes to your mind when we say 'ghost hunting'?
Abandoned mansions with frightening stories of murder? Or perhaps spectres guarding graveyards? Or maybe restless spirits trapped to roam the earth?
Despite those gruesome images, ghost stories are not limited to crumbling ruins or forgotten corners of the world. Some of the most bustling sites around the world also tell tales of mysterious mists or haunting voices such as the Tower of London or the White House.
The more the interest in the existence of the paranormal, the more the emergence of sleuths who seek these haunted places to figure out the truth once and for all. Ghost hunting has developed from a somewhat eccentric hobby to a form of entertainment, bringing in new believers who grow up on these investigative television programs and imagine chasing a ghost themselves.
Whether it is the thrill of making contact with the paranormal for the first time or experiencing something they had only read about, novices continually find themselves interested year after year. They may visit Civil War era towns or join ghost walks, but the locations ready for some ghost hunting are aplenty.
