Abby Gerhard (Light Shining Above)

Abby's POV

"No! I'm not going!" 

"Oh please, c'mon!" Carol begged while I breathed in my cigarette 

"No! I won't allow myself to be a third wheel!" 

"Abby, it is not like Therese and I are dating"

Carol is begging me to go this café that she had recently found and she wanted me to go with her, I would go with her, although she also wants to bring Therese, that is why I didn't want to go because I don't to be wheel third and watch them be all lovey-dovey

"I know that you two are not dating but I know that you two like each other and I know how you could be" I said with an arch eyebrow 

"I promise to behave myself. So please, come with us" she grabs my hand and I sighed 

"Fine, however if I began to feel uncomfortable I will leave" I warned 

"Deal!"

I drove for a minute or so and followed the address that Carol had left me with, when I arrived to destination I saw Carol and Therese already in front of the café

I got out of my car and walked up to them "Shall we go?" Carol asked then Therese and I nodded 

As we went inside a waitress took us to a table of four and we all sat down, Carol and Therese sat together and I sat alone, eyeing the waitress earlier because she seems pretty 

I reached out to the side of the table, taking out the menu and began to look what to order, once I figured what I wanted I placed down the menu, I looked up the two women in front of me and seems like they're still deciding what they wanted 

Then what seem and felt like an eternity they had finally finished thinking what to get and we all placed down out orders

Moments later, our orders came however the lights began to fade and we three looked at each other and wondered why the lights were starting to dim so Carol asked the waitress "Excuse me, may I know why the lights are dimming?" 

"Oh a performance is about to happen ma'am" the waitress said 

"A performance?" Therese questioned 

"Yes, every friday there would be a performance" the woman kidly said 

"What kind of performance?" I added

"I don't know, It's always different every friday" I nodded and we thank the woman for the information 

Then the curtains in front of us began to move to the side revealing a stage, then the stage lights pointed at one spot

Pointing to a blonde girl 

The girl had a mic right before her as she held the stand of the microphone while her head facing down a bit, making it hard to see her face 

The girl then glanced up with her eyes slowly opening and as she sang the lyrics of The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole which is understandable since Christmas is near (Yes, I know that this song released at 1961 but I can't help it, okay!?!)

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like eskimos

Her voice was one of a kind. It was not like the other's voices when they sang. You can hear the sweetnest, the vocals and the passion for music in her voice

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

Her appearance and features are just angelic. She has a slim body, beautiful pale skin, and a nice long silky, velvet like hair that shines like gold whenever light shines above. I have to admit, this is my first time seeing girl with her down with no curls because most of the woman I meet their hair are short and curled up, it's amazing to see a girl with only a natural and long hair

They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And ev'rymother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly

I wouldn't mind admiring and listening to her all day long as long if it's her then...I guess...she would be acceptable for me 

And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it's been said many times
Many ways: "Merry Christmas to you"

When the song was over everyone around applauded including Therese, Carol and I then the curtain closed and the lights went back to before "Well, that's a delightful performance. The blonde girl was stunning, wasn't she?" Carol said

"She definitely was" I blurted out then once I realized what I said I glanced up I noticed that Therese had a questioned look and other one had a smug smile on her face "No, it's nothing like that" I cleared out

"I didn't say it was something like that" Carol simple shrugged, the girl beside her just sat and quietly ate her food probably not wanting to be a part of the conversation which was honestly a wise choice

I didn't say anything back and neither did Carol and we just silently ate our meal, making small talks here and there 

Once we finished our meal I told them I would pay for the meal but Carol protested and said that she would pay and we literally argued as to whom would pay and at the end we settled on that I would pay when we were pulled away by Therese

"Next time, I will pay" Carol added 

"Whatever you say" 

When I was done paying for the meal I was placing away my wallet in my purse when I accidentally bumped into someone "Oh dear! I'm so sorry..." when I glanced up I discovered whom I had bumped into. It was the girl who performed earlier 

"Oh it's fine, no worries" she announced with warm smile 

 Now, that I examine her more she doesn't really have any makeup just a touch of blush and a light lipstick and her eyes are in the colour grey, she really seems angelic "That was a great performance earlier"

"Oh thank you!" then I noticed that she has a tray of drinks on her hand 

"Oh shoot! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hold you up!" 

"Oh it's quite alright" she chuckled, when she was about to turn away I stopped her "Hey, umm...do you mind if I can give you a call one day?" 

"Sure, I don't see the harm at that" then she placed down her tray and pulled out a small paper from a notepad and wrote down her number then gave it to me "Give me a call anytime" then she went off

I looked at the piece of paper and noticed that she had also wrote down her name

Hmm, (Y/n) (L/n)...what a stunning name for a stunning woman
