♢ 3rd Person's POV ♢
It has been a couple of weeks and Marla and (Y/n) have become inseparable. (Y/n) had taken Marla to many wonderful places she knew and the both of them couldn't be more happier than ever
The whole events and plans the had made (Y/n) forget about her illness and just lived the life she still had with Marla and she wouldn't change it for the world. She loved spending time with Marla
As their 'friendship' progress even more by the time they spend time with each other the more Marla became quite sceptical about (Y/n). She kept wondering why would a girl like (Y/n) want to spend time with her. Marla doesn't have much friends and so does (Y/n)
Marla doesn't friends because she feels like she doesn't need them, not unless they were hook-ups and only use her, but (Y/n) changed that, proving that she does need friends and that they're more than just hook-ups
(Y/n) on the other hand doesn't have friends because she has trouble finding good people, but even if she could find good people, she tends to pull herself away from them, thinking that she doesn't deserve them, she even thinks that she doesn't deserve Marla as her friend, but she can't do anything cause she's her roommate and it's not like she's just going to kick her out
So them finding and getting along with each other was beneficial for the both of them. They may not know it but they need one and another, more than they know it. Unfortunately, they don't have time
"Marla!" (Y/n) called from the kitchen and Marla popped up as soon as she heard her name
"Yeah?"
"Can you go down and buy a couple of things in the supermarket? Looks like I've ran out things to cook with and to eat faster than I thought" (Y/n) stated while eyeing Marla
"What? You cook amazingly! It's not my fault all the food you make are so damn delicious" (Y/n) rolled her eyes and just handed her the shopping list
"I want you to buy those and only those!" she warned before giving Marla her credit card, she trust her that she won't just buy anything with it. Besides, (Y/n) only had $100 in that card
"What's in it for me?"
"Really? Isn't me cooking you delicious food enough?"
"That's a necessity! I do have something I want" Marla then smirked at (Y/n) making her frown
"Don't you have anything better to do other than flirting with me?" she asked and crosses her arms
"Oh no! I'm busted! What ever are you going to do to me?" Marla replied sarcastically
"For the love of heaven, help me...Fine! You can get one or two snacks, but that's it!" (Y/n) was always up-tight with money, she was taught to save money and only buy things she needs, it's one of the reasons how she's able to keep so much money from a semi-low paying job
"At least it's better than nothing. I'll be back in a jiffy!" with that, Marla left
(Y/n) went back to cooking the dinner. Sooner than later, she turned off the stove and washed her hands. Dinner was done. All of a sudden, she felt the need to look at the calendar, something tells her that something was going to happen
She turned her head to the calendar hanging on the wall and was surprised when she noticed that it's been one month and a half since she met Marla and since she went to the doctor. Her life has been extended a little bit, but that still doesn't change her condition
A few minutes had passed and (Y/n) was still waiting for Marla so they'd could have dinner, then her home telephone started ringing, she presumed that it was Marla since she usually brings (Y/n) phone whenever (Y/n) doesn't feel like going out
Just as she's about to reach the telephone, there was a sudden sting on her chest, it was painful that she fell on her knees. She held onto her shirt, right to her chest. The pain made it difficult for her to breath, she tried inhaling air to her lungs, but the constant sharp sting on her chest made it impossible
Her body collapsed to the floor right before she could grab the telephone. She wanted to Marla that she needs her, but she couldn't find the strength in her. Her body became weaker and weaker and became heavier and heavier. With every breath she took it felt like an elephant was standing on her
Marla...Marla...I'm sorry...
Moments later, Marla finally arrived home "Hey, I tried calling you to ask you what juice you wanted, when you didn't pick up I just chose apple jui-" Marla stopped right where she was, her eyes widen and she could feel her whole body run cold when she saw (Y/n) lying on the floor
Once reality snapped back at her she quickly dropped everything and ran towards (Y/n) "(Y/n)! Shit! Hey, hey, hey! Wake up, (Y/n)! Please!" she gently yet firmly slapped (Y/n) couple of times on the face, but she wouldn't wake up
"Fuck! Fuck! fuck!" she cursed so many times, then she reached for the telephone and dialled 911
"Hello, this is 9-"
"Help me, please! I-I mean h-help her! SHIT!"
"Ma'am, I need you to calm down, who needs help?"
"My friend! I just got back home and I saw her lying on the floor! S-She feels cold! C-Cold to the touch! Please, she needs the hospital!" Marla screamed and began sobbing
"Ma'am, stay on the call, I'm sending an ambulance now. They'll be there in 5 minutes"
Exactly 5 minutes, the ambulance came and took (Y/n), they placed her on a stretcher "Wait! Can I come with you? Please? Just until the hospital" the medics looked at each other hesitantly
"Okay" Marla was relief and followed them to the ambulance truck, once they got in they immediately started driving
The medics placed a needle in (Y/n)'s arm, giving her some IV fluid "How long was she out?"
"I-I don't know! P-Probably 10 minutes...I tried to call when I was in the market but she wouldn't answer, maybe that was the time she passed out" Marla replied
"Has she ever told you of any sickness or medication?"
"I've seen her take sleeping pills because she has insomnia, b-but surely insomnia isn't that fatal, right?" she asked worriedly
"Not getting enough sleep can some times be sickening, can make you go crazy"
"Yeah, I know, but the last time I saw her she was normal, she was in her senses and even told me to go to the supermarket" Suddenly, the heart monitor made a loud, flat noise, they all looked and saw the flat line
Her heart had stopped beating
The medic Marla was talking with quickly started giving (Y/n) heart compressions while Marla sobbed even more "Christ, (Y/n)! Don't die on me now! Please!" Marla pleaded and pleaded by her side, begging for her to come back, then the heart monitor started beeping normally again
Marla was relief to hear that beeping sound again. Marla looked at (Y/n)'s still face and that when she realised how really important (Y/n) was to her, she doesn't want to lose her, she doesn't want to lose the only person who liked her
They don't want to lose each other, but (Y/n)'s fate has already been set in stone and there's nothing they can do
