"Elbow lower. You need to put it in one line with your shoulder Daniel. Look at Lynx, she is doing it right" Edmund said pushing his grandson's elbow down.
Danny and Lynx were learning archery. Both off them had identical bows. It were just basic wooden bows. They were just used for them to learn. When Danny and Lynx were better they would get more professional bows, but at this rate Lynx would get it sooner then Danny, he really sucked at it.
Lynx smirked smugly towards Daniel and said silently "Told you I would kick your ass.". Daniel huffed and made sure his posture was a good as possible.
"Good, now you can let go." The elder man told his grandchildren. Both of them let loose of the string and the arrows flew to the air. Lynx her arrow landed just in the side of the tree. Danny's landed about 7 meter beside the intended target.
"We've been at this archery thing for hours. Can we do the thing that we did 2 days ago? You know, the thing that I actually can do?" Danny said. Two days before Edmund began learning them martial arts. Both Lynx and Danny were pretty good at it but of course seeing as Daniel was bigger and stronger he was a lot better than Lynx. But for her age she was really good.
"You won't be able to do something if you don't try it. Go get your arrow and try again Daniel." Edmund sternly stated. He was a good teacher but he was also very strict.
With a groan Danny went towards the place were his arrows were with Lynx skipping behind him. It amused her to no end how her brother would act. It was hard to keep her laugh in, especially when Daniel would be 'overdramatic' again.
That was a funny thing about Daniel. He shows that he cares by complaining and whining. He doesn't mean it in the way he shows it, gradually less. He was complicated. But who isn't?
He began rubbing that off on Lynx. The only thing kids do is observing and mostly imitating. She hasn't talked to anyone beside Danny and Edmund. The elder didn't want to risk anything, even though it had been 4 years since that night. Not that she minded staying with them all the time. She helped her grandfather fixing, she read books, kept her brother company and pulled a few pranks here and there.
After about 6 more days of switching between different kinds of training, they apparated with their tent to another place. It was a little bit colder there and they stood in front of a massive lake.
"Gran'pa Eddy? Where are we? Why are we here?" Lynx asked. She hadn't been there for 10 minutes and she already felt a little cold. When she looked around she saw they were in a valley. There were mountains with lots of waterfalls. The mountains were littered with green treetops. It was beautiful.
"We are here because if I remember well neither of you can swim." Once his grandpa spoke Danny walked towards his water. He took of his shoes and socks and put his foot in the water.
He immediately pulled it out letting out something that was a mix between a gasp and a scream. "We have to learn how to swim in this melted ice cube? This is were mammoth would freeze in their leftovers!" Danny had a incredulous look on his face that made Lynx giggle. The youngest Moore turned towards her. "Oh really Stribor? You think this is funny, huh? Okay then."
The teasing glint in Danny's eye told Lynx to run but it already was to late. He summoned Lynx her sweater and the little girl came with being trapped within.
Danny picked his little sister up and ran with her in the cold lake. He didn't go to deep because neither could swim but still deep enough to make both of them soaked.
The white-haired wizard at the shore was laughing along with his grandchildren, with the difference that he was dry. He had come to love Lynx as if she was his family. Because to both Moore men she was family and Lynx thought of them as her family to.
