"Are you sure I don't have to apparate you back? I mean you splinched on your way here." Charlie watched unsure as the now 14-year-old grabbed her maple wooden wand.

"I'll be fine Charlie. And that only happened because someone-" Lynx threw a glare at the creature sitting on her shoulder. "decided to test whether my ear was a good snack or not right when I was about to apparate."

Charlie failed to hide his chuckle and the girl shot him a little glare. Grummie held up his tail in a high-five-like fashion to which the man gladly agreed and high-fived the tail.

Before Lynx was even able to grab her wand out of her boot, a dark-haired woman bursts into Charlie's little house. She was slightly out of breath and Lynx assumed she had run all the way from the healer's tent to there since she was still wearing her work clothes which consisted of a white sweater, light blue jeans and lime coloured sneakers.

"Alhena? What-" The redhead wasn't able to finish his sentence as the woman held her hand up and gracefully stepped to the younger teen that was standing right next to him.

"I got you some healing potions just in case anything happens. If you're in trouble send me a message and know you can come to Charlie or me if you are in need. You understand me?" The healer of the Romanian Dragon Reserve asked.

Lynx had met Alhena through Charlie as she was there to visit him. He said Alena was pretty new at the reserve but that the both of them had quickly become "friends". The girl had been living isolated in a forest for the last 4 years with only a firedrake to keep her company but even she could see the way both adults would ogle at each other when the other wasn't looking. Kind of gross to be honest.

Nonetheless, the Firethorn woman was incredibly kind once you looked past the thick cold exterior she had for most. Of course, she didn't know her name was Lynx Black, both Lynx and Charlie resulted in calling her Lynn Grey. Because that was so much further from the truth and incredibly subtle.

"Yes, I know and thank you."

"Do you want me or Charlie to bring you back? It could be quite dangerous as you splinched yourself barely a week ago." Alhena's motherly nature surfaced quickly around the girl. She says that adults are usually the problem. Kids are the way they are raised and who raises them? Adults.

Around children, it was like her cold pureblood upbringing was never even there. She would say it was because of her son that she acted like that but it came so naturally, it was hard to believe it was a quality she had only gotten later in life.

"I'll be fine." Lynx assured her and took out her wand. Grummie quickly hid in her jacket to be close to Lynx. "Tell Leo I said goodbye!" The girl loudly said before an enormously loud crack was heard and she was sitting on a branch about 20 metres from her tent, just outside of her border.

Lynx took a deep breath and was relieved she didn't feel any pain from anywhere. Guess miracles did happen sometimes. The little firedrake peeped out immediately and flew to where instinctively already knew where their camp was.

As the girl was about to jump down, she heard the cracking of twigs to the side of her. once more she counted her blessings to always be wearing camouflage clothes as it would be very unlikely for the person to see her.

She transformed into her animagus form which had grown significantly since she was 11. She jumped from the branch she was one to another tree to be able to see the person better but immediately, the teen wished she didn't see them.

"Merlin has got to be shitting!" Lynx cursed in her thoughts. As she easily gained her balance on the wobbly branch because of her animagus, she was peering at the completely black-clothed people that seemed like they were looking for something.

Or more like someone.

The feline glared in her all might at them. She didn't know how they kept doing it but this would've been the 5th time they had found her in the last 4 months. It was never her tent that they found but was always in the area around.

This time, unfortunately, they weren't as stupid as Lynx had hoped. Her blood began to boil at the sight of the look of victory on their face as they stepped over the barrier.

However, that changed quickly when they saw a ferocious predator jumping towards them. The claws broke through the skin of the person. Blood immediately started to ooze out of the wound.

Lynx let out a loud snarl and tackled the black-clothed intruder. She pushed her claws inside their shoulder. She felt the muscle tear around them. How the strings of flesh ripped apart. And Merlin, it felt good!

A yell full of agony fell from the victim but they could cry and scream all they wanted. No one outside of the border would be able to hear them. No one could come and help her. She was trapped. Lynx felt completely feral and she let every moral she was taught by her grandfather and held onto them tightly, she let them go. Every dangerous instinct had taken her over. And she let it.

Lynx watched as blood started to ooze out of the wounds and cover her paws a bright red colour, but the animagus couldn't care less. She wanted them to hurt. She wanted the people who killed her grandfather to be in pain. She didn't care anymore. It felt good.

With a harsh fast swipe, the whole head was cut off. It rolled further away from the body. Lynx was still an animal and breathing heavily on a now headless corpse. The adrenaline was still rushing through her veins as she watched it roll further and further.

Only when the head was outside of the border was when she stood up and slowly morphed back into a teenage girl. She gave a last look to the corpse before sighing. She walked to the tub filled with water outside of her tent and washed her hands.

Her face was completely blank, void even as she watched the water turn red almost instantly. She started to scrub harshly to get it off. It was completely fresh blood, it should come off easily. Right? It would come off.
