Danny laughed. Lynx was hissing at the elderly couple, trying to look or sound dangerous but al she did was looking cute. Normally Lynx would observe the situation and see what why would be the best to approach it. But she had just woken up so her mind wasn't really working yet. Also when it came to each other's safety, the Moore siblings were anything but patient.
On the other hand, only Danny thought it was funny. The lynx looked young but it was still fairly large and it did not look friendly at all. It looked like it was about to rip the elderly couple apart if they made one wrong movement with her fluffy paws. Okay, maybe she was a little cute. Hamish looked at Daniel as if he were crazy while his wife kept her eyes focused upon the animal before her.
Danny noticed the looks of his elders. "Relax, she's not going to do you anything." He scooped the lynx up in his arms. "Come on, don't make me transform you." He told Lynx. She looked wearily at the 2 other people. Gran'pa Eddy told her to never let anybody know who she was unless she was 100% safe. Danny noticed what she was thinking, "It's okay, I know them." He reassured her.
Lynx looked towards her brother. She knew she could trust him, no matter what. So she transformed from her animagus form back into her human form. Still being in Danny's arms trying to hide in them. With Danny there was no problem to be herself but Danny was the only child she had ever known. She didn't know how to be around other people then her brother and grandfather. Thinking about him, Lynx looked over Danny's shoulder to peek, maybe he was there to but she didn't see him. Which only got her thinking about where he could be.
Isla looked saddened at the young girl. She didn't looked scared but more shy and unknowing about what was going on. She was so small. If she remembered correctly the girl was only 9 years old. The plan had to continue but it was hard for Isla to think about it. She knew her brother, he would have prepared her no matter what age she was. It didn't make it any easier.
Hamish was shocked. 'How in Merlin's name could such a young child be an animagus?' he thought.
Daniel saw how his great-aunt looked at Lynx. He knew what she was thinking and subconciously held his sister closer with a sigh. His eyes watered when he remembered that his grandfather always said that it was bound to happen. There was a reason they had been training Lynx and also the people from in teh woods had seen her scar, there was no way she could be safe anymore.
Lynx noticed how her brother's mood had changed and she wanted to distract on what he was thinking. Also the 9 yearold was very curious. "Danny? Who are these people?" she whispered in his ear. She could feel 2 pair of eyes staring at her back. It made her feel uncomfortable.
Danny swallowed the lump in his troat. He shifted his sister so she could look at the elderly couple. He cleared his troat before spoke. "Lynx, meet Isla and Hamish Mac-Farlan. They are our great-aunt and great-uncle. Isla was grandpa's sister." Lynx eyes widened slightly when she heard her brother say was. What was going on with gran'pa Eddy? Where was he? "Aunt Isla and uncle Hamish, meet Lynx Black-Moore. My sister." Danny rubbed the back of his neck while saying the last part. Everyone knew Lynx Black, she supposably died on the same night as her mother and the Potters. So yeah, it would be kind of a shock to hear she was still alive.
"Nice to meet you Lynx. I'm Isla." The woman said with a kind smile. Her light brown eyes looked like they had seen a lot and they shined with wisdom. Meanwhile her husband had shock written all over his face. His mouth had fallen open. How could she still be alive? There wasn't just Harry Potter, the boy who lived, but also Lynx Black, the girl who lived. How in Merlin's name was she still alive?
Isla noticed Lynx's awkward gaze from the man that was gaping at her. She elbowed her husband in the stomach and gave him a pointed look. He immediately closed his mouth and looked kind off embarassed. Daniel was also slightly glaring, he didn't like it one bit when Lynx was even slightly uncomfortable. Except for when it was when he was annoying her, then it was fun but no one else was allowed to do that.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm Hamish Mac-Farlan, pleasure."
Lynx nodded back slightly at the elder couple with her lips pressed together while trying to smile. Whenever the girl was embarassed she would make a face like that. But then something clicked in her mind. Hamish Macfarlan, the little magpies scatteredd around the house. She looked with wide eyes at her brother, then looked back at the elder wizard and then back to her brother. He seemed to know what she was thinking and smiled smugly at his sister.
"I had to get my Montrose Magpies obsession from somewhere." He told her. His great uncle was the captain of the Montrose Magpies for 11 years before joining the Ministry of Magic and becoming the head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports. Ever since Danny was able to understand Quidditch, Hamish had been telling him everything about the Montrose Magpies. Even before he could understand anything about the game.
Isla sighed and shook her head when she saw her husband beam up with pride. "You can talk Quidditch later, it's time for breakfast. Come on, the 2 of you must be starving." She ushered the younger Moore children the kitchen in and made them sit at the table. Again there were little magpie details along the whole kitchen.
Isla magically filled their plates with breakfast. Lynx looked at Danny who stuffed the food in his mouth like a very hungry swine. He had the table manners and snorring habits of a swine. Lynx sometimes wondered if was his patronus was a pig. But what he said earlier kept swirling in her head, about the womand Isla WAS the sister of gran'pa Eddy. What did he mean by that? Lynx had a terrible feeling about it.
"What's on your mind sis?" Danny ask wih his mouth full of egg. Lynx cringed badly at the side of it. That looked really gross. SHe shoock her head so her mind was back to her innitial thoughts.
Danny saw his sister's face fall. He hoped it wasn't about what he thought it was.
"Where is gran'pa Eddy?" Isla dropped the pan that she was washing in the sink and Hamish putted his glass of water on the counter to get to his wife.
The lump from earlier formed back into Daniel's troat. He had saw the light of one of the worst spells in wizarding history light up his entire house. He took a deep breath and signed for his siter to follow him back into the living room. His aunt Isla was almost crying while her husband was rubbing her back.
Lynx looked with big eyes to her brother once he sat next to her.
He took a deep breath and pulled his siter close to him. "Uhm Lynx, you need to know ..."
