What Is Happening?

Adi's POV

As I woke up, I couldnt tell if it was morning or evening. The Room of Requirement doesnt really work according to the real time. There was no natural light either, just the light from fire burning in the furnace. I couldnt open my eyes, I was that tired...it felt like years since I was here.

After a few more painful sighs, I woke up. I was still nauseous and my head was spinning. In all this mess I managed to look into the mirror....I had faded even more, now looking more or less like a ghost. I brought my arms closer to me and just couldn't help crying...why this torture, why can't I just die at once?

I wanted to call Shovel, Shreni, Alex....anyone to be with me. But how could I? They hated me. And anyways there is no way they could find me here. I just couldn't hold it more. But then I remembered this was the only way that I could save them.

~3 months ago~

Aaah that was a long night.
"Very long," someone whispered behind me.
"WHAT THE-" This time, I would have woken up the whole of Hogwarts due to my screams if the person wouldn't have quickly used a silencing charm. A wide grin was on her face and ah the cloak, the swishy cloak.

"I thought we could share a packet of Bertie Botts' Beans and have a long, long chat while you see your Nebula. I needed to know something as well as tell you something," she chuckled.

"Alex! Of all the times you could have had a discuss, you chose this hour?",I spoke fast my heart still beating fast from the scare Skull had given me.
"Sorry, Adi." she gave me an apologetic grin. "But this was really important."

"It better be." I intoned and started following her to the astronomy tower. More than being angry, I was scared that we would be caught and this whole night would just be a waste, not forgetting the detention that would follow.

It was a long way from the Gryffindor Common to the Astronomy Tower. I wondered how Alex managed to sneak out of the Slytherin common room, I atleast had Brian with me.

Reaching the tower, I quickly closed the door and grabbed a telescope. Thank God, we were just in time for me to see the nebulae.
"So," I said adjusting my telescope, "What was the important thing you needed to tell me?"
Alex suddenly looked grave, all the cheerfulness vanished from her face in an instant. She moved close to the window and stood there for a long time, her face looking eerily beautiful in the moonlight.

I was lost in my world but getting no response from her, I called her again, "Skull?" This time with concern.
"It's a curse, Adi." She said slowly facing me. "Its killing me." She completed as I saw something I could never imagine. There were tears in her eyes.

And she collapsed.

"Alex!" I quickly ran to her side, a thousand questions running through my mind. Which curse? What dying? If anything I was sure about, Alex was the type of person that would never joke about something like this. As I was about to hold her she raised her hand as a signal for me to stay away.

"Don't t-touch m-me." saying that she fainted. As much as I was worried about her, I took her warning seriously and realized the fact that I was alone with no one to help.

"God, what do I do?!" I was getting teary when suddenly the door opened and someone came in.

"Adi you okay? I heard your scream and came here," It was Brian and I swear this was the happiest I had ever been to see him. I quickly hugged him and started sobbing in his arms. Strange games of fate right? At that time I didn't know it, but it would be our last hug.

"A...Alex", I said sobbing. He quickly wiped my tears and told me to calm down. Then went over to Alex and picked her up in her arms. "Let's go to Madam Pomfrey." I had no time to think about the detention or the questioning I would get on being in the Astronomy Tower at 3 am at night, I just wanted Alex to get well. I quickly nodded and followed Brian, trying not to get jealous on seeing Alex in his arms. (God, Adi!)

Soon we reached the hospital wing and Brian carefully put her in one of the beds.

"I'll quickly go and get Madam Pomfrey." I nodded back to him and sat on the bed next to the one Alex was sleeping in.

Even in my shocked state I couldn't help but think about what she had just told me. But somehow, I couldn't process it. What if she die- no, no, no.

How could I think such things? I shook my head snd rid it of the thoughts it was having. And I also drank some water as Madam pomfrey came running in a night suit along with Brian.

"Merlin's Beard! What the hell happened to her?" She was equally shocked on seeing Alex's pale skin. "And you! You poor thing," She said looking at me, quite worried.

"You will need a tonic for shock." I sighed in relief that she didn't ask anything else but all that relief vanished when I saw Professor Mcgonagall storming through the door and looking very, very angry.
