The Nebula

I laid in my bed, wide awake as I counted sheep. 233, 234, 235.....
It must be almost 1 AM. I wanted the whole Gryffindor house to be asleep and its almost always the exact opposite. Yeah, too much energy. I heard an owl hoot, faraway in the Forest. Is it time? Must be. I got up quietly, making sure not to wake up anyone. I grabbed my astronomy bag filled with equipments and books. I looked in the mirror and straightened my tie (yes, I had slept in my uniform)
'Perfect,' I whispered as I peeked into the Common Room and not a single soul was in sight. I could finally enjoy myself.

'Almost there,' I said mantally as I reached out to the doorknob.
'What are you doing here?' A chill ran down my spine as I heard a voice behind me. I almost screamed, until the owner of the voice covered my mouth with his hands. 'Shh! You're going to get the both of us in detention,' I looked up and stared into a pair of brown eyes. Of course. The person who caught me was Brian.
'Brian?! What the-'
What the heck was he doing here at one in the morning?!

'No outings at night. You know I'm a prefect. I'm supposed to keep you out of trouble.' As he said that, he stepped a little closer to me, his brown eyes staring into mine. He was uncomfortably close. I didn't know what to do, so I took a few steps back.
'Um, see...' I looked away. Thank goodness that he couldn't see my red face in the dark. 'Its a special day in the astronomical timeline and I can see the Cat's Eye Nebula from here clearly. So please let me go,' I pleaded with my puppy eyes, which was my secret ninja technique in case any prefect or professor caught me doing something I shouldn't be doing. It seemed to work every single time. Brian looked confused. Ha! Take that for scaring the shit out of me. Then he whispered in a quiet voice, 'Should I come with you as well?' As much as I wanted for Brian to come with me, I couldn't let him risk his Prefect badge for me. Plus I knew who would be protecting who since I was always the one who ended up with giving explanations to the teacher if any mischief was done by my group.
'That would be sweet but no B, as you said, you're a prefect. Can't let you get into trouble.' I smiled mischievously and polished his badge with the sleeve of my robes. He looked uncertain, but decided that I could be on my own. 'Take care though,' he said. 'I will. Besides, I don't get caught very often,' I winked at him before going out of the portrait.

Aaah, its gonna be a long night.
'Very long indeed,' someone whispered behind me.
'WHAT THE-' this time, I would've woken up the whole Hogwarts castle if the person who had talked hadn't quietened me with a Silencing Charm.
A wide grin was plastered on her face. 'I thought we could share a pack of Bertie Botts Beans and have a long chat while you look at your nebula. I have something to tell, as well as want to hear something from you.'
