Amazed By You (Sequel To Look After You)

(14) Spring Break

1 month later 

"Okay so here is his trunks,water shoes and little swimmers. Sunscreen and a hat." Ellie said 

"You are coming with us why do I have to pack all this with me?" Bucky said 

"Because I'm not going to Florida." Ellie said as she zipped up Cam's suitcase. 

"What? This is his first real beach trip. Last year he was barely 3 months. I figured that since you threw such a fit about Halloween you would be all over this." He said 

"We have plans." Ellie said as she looked to Colton who was sitting on her bed. 

"You two have plans? So a romantic getaway is more important than our son's real beach trip." Bucky said 

"If you are implying that I'm choosing my boyfriend over my son I've got news for you I'm not. We are going to NY for my birthday he got me tickets to go see the NY ballet company perform." She said 

"Real romantic Baxter." Bucky said 

"Barnes I am warning to stop being an ass before I punch you. You ruined her chances of getting into Julliard by getting her pregnant." Colton said 

"I don't know what kind of lies she told you. But she was told by both her grandparents and mine that she wasn't allowed to go." He said 

Ellie rolled her eyes. "I didn't spew lies James. I was suppose to do a virtual audition but then I had my knee injury. Remember me saying that I had something that was real important. So two weeks before Florida two years ago I did a virtual audition. You and I slept together I was offered a scholarship the very same week I found out I was pregnant. So yes you did ruin my chances.." she said 

Bucky stood there in shock. "I'm gonna go. Have fun in the cold and snow." Bucky said as he picked up Cam's suitcase. He went down the hall to Cam's room and picked up a sleeping Cam and left. 

That night Ellie and Colton took off to NY. She posted a selfie of the two of them kissing on the plane. While Bucky was playing in the floor of the playroom with Cam. The next morning the Barnes and the Coopers left for Florida. While Ellie and Colton were waking up in their Plaza hotel room. 

Colton kissed her. "Morning.." he whispered 

"Morning." She whispered 

Their plane landed at midnight so they were still tired. 

"Room service?" He whispered 

"Yeah. Food sounds good I'm starving." She whispered 

He got the menu picked out what they wanted and ordered it. After getting breakfast in their system they went to enjoy some sight seeing. They visited the Statue of Liberty and enjoyed lunch at a small bistro. 

They enjoyed their first day in NY even eating a nice Italian restaurant for dinner. 

Three days into the trip they dressed up and went to the ballet recital. Colton looked over at her at one point and saw a tear fall down her cheek. He wiped it away. 

"You okay?" He whispered 

"Yeah..I just had a moment." She whispered

He kissed her forehead. "I love you." He whispered 

"I love you too." She whispered 

Meanwhile back in Florida Bucky got Cam down for the night.

"Hey mom can you listen for him. I need some air." He said 

"Yeah honey sure." She said 

Bucky stepped out side and used the private board walk to the beach. He sat down and broke j to tears. While he had been laying with Cam waiting for him to fall asleep he had seen all the pictures from the last three days of Ellie's NY trip. She was all smiles in all of them. 

James came out and sat beside him. Bucky quickly wiped his face and sniffled. 

"Hey dad.." he said 

"Son what's wrong." James said 

"Nothing just needed some air." He said 

"Buchanan you don't have to lie to me. I heard you crying you know you don't have to be Mr Tough guy all the time." James said 

Bucky looked down. 

"I know you miss her. And I know it hurts seeing her with someone else. But maybe if it had been just the one time she would be able to forgive you. But you had started a relationship with someone else while you were still with her. So I don't blame her for being stand offish." James said 

"Dad.." he said 

"Son, you and Ellie have always had a complicated relationship. You two have fought like cats and dogs but then there for each other. You have always been secretly protecting her but I think the one person you couldn't protect her from is you. Ryan told me what Colton said to you about Julliard and how he said that you treated her like crap always. I also know that in your Valentine's Day card you talked about how she's always been your girl she was the one you kissed on the lips." James said 

Bucky closed his eyes. 

"But Ellie told Ryan she remembers that kiss a little differently. That you kissed the other girls before you got to her. And after you kissed her you said I celebrated with all the girls. As cute as it was for me to watch you hold out your hand and count to 5 as you held the kiss. I think it was a little foreshadowing son. I'm just putting that out there she may be the girl you want but the way she sees it is there is always going to be another girl standing in her way." James said as he stood up.

"Come inside soon. Your mother is worried about you." James said 

"Yeah." He said.

The next day Ellie and Colton were at Rockafellar center ice skating. He pulled her close to him and interlaced both of their hands. 

"You enjoying your spring break?" He said 

"I have enjoyed every bit of it." She said 

He smiled as he kissed her. "I have a surprise for you." He said 

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny black box. 

"Colton?" She said 

He opened it up to reveal a rose gold diamond ring. "It's a promise ring. A promise you are never alone, a promise that I will always love you. And most importantly a promise that one day I'm going to give you my last name." He said as he slid it on her finger. 

She smiled as she wiggled her fingers. "It's beautiful.." she whispered.

She kissed him he began to kiss her back. He moved down to her neck and began to suck. 

"Mmm let's go back to the hotel." He whispered 

"Are you cold?" She whispered 

"Very cold.." he whispered against her ear as he nibbled on her ear lobe.

"Mmm.so cold I need your naked body on top of me to warm me up." He whispered in her ear. 

"Colton Kane you are being so dirty." She whispered 

"Since when is my dirty talk a problem." He whispered 

"It's not.." she whispered as they left the ice rink. 

After their afternoon delight in the hotel room. They were able to visit Yankee stadium and take selfies of them there. They enjoyed the last two days of their trip visiting Madison Square Garden Central Park and museums.
