(18) Dance Numbers and Tears

The next night everyone filled the auditorium again. Now it was just the boys sitting with their parents. 

After Mrs Hampton gave a welcome message the curtain close and the lights dimmed. 

The curtains opened back up to reveal Ellie,Nat,Wanda and Yelena doing a hip hop dance routine to "Lose Control." 

"Holy shit.." Sam said 

Ryan smirked. 

Winnie Sarah Stephanie and the other moms from their group were on their feet. All smiles and clapping to the beat. Natasha had convinced Ellie to join them on the routine to make it complete. 

"Oh that was amazing! Did you see her Ryan?" Winnie said 

"I did." He said with a proud dad smile. 

The curtain opened back up to reveal all the girls that signed up for the dance night. "Proud Mary." Began to play. James looked back at his mom and Ryan's mom. They use to sing this song all the time. 

When the music picked up the girls came alive. It was a routine that Ellie had choreographed keeping in the Tina Turner moves. Winnie saw the program and said that Ellie had choreographed it. 

"Ryan look.." Winnie said 

"Oh yeah I know. She told me she did most of the choreo." He said 

  Cole and Ellie walked out as they began to do a contemporary routine to Chase Holfelder's version of Every Breathe You Take. It included a lot of lifts and he had his hands all over her. There was a  where he was on the floor where he held her up by his feet and hands and they did a roll as he did a push move with one leg lifted. 

"Seriously? I can't send her flowers but his best friend can roll around with her on stage and have his hands all over her body." Bucky said 

Winnie smacked his head "Stop it. We aren't doing this tonight again. It was a beautiful dance and maybe he trusts his best friend more than he trusts you." Winnie said 

Bucky shook his head at his mom and turned back around. A few other performers took to the stage. The girls were back stage helping Ellie get ready for her solo performance. 

The stage opened up to reveal her cage of mirrors. The song Antidote began to play as she danced in the cage of mirrors and fake rain. 

"Oh my god. Not this one again." Bucky said 

She laid down and began to dance from the floor. She sat up and ran her hands through her hair and slammed her fists down. She began to lean against each mirror and she did turns. She sat back down and pretended to cry as the words began to appear. 

"Cherry Pie Mistake Nerd, Teen Mom, Homecoming Queen Prom Queen. Girlfriend ❤️" 

She began to break the mirrors as tears but they wouldn't break. In the dark of the stage someone appeared and unlocked the cage. At the end of the song the spotlight moved to the figure it was Colton who began to unwrap the bandages she had and he picked her up and carried her off at the end of the song. 

Not one eye was dry. 

"She added more to the routine. And a picture of Taylor." Winnie said 

"Yeah. She said Natasha convinced her to do the routine again. That it was one of her favorites that she has seen Ellie do" Ryan said 

"That was beautiful. She's talented." Ophelia said 

"Yeah she is." Ryan said 

Bucky had Cam in his lap since it was his week Anyways. They left Bucky didn't want to watch anymore. In his mind he felt like Colton showing up at the end that Ellie was crediting him as the person who helped her get better. When it was him that held her hand in therapy for months.
