(9) Homecoming Queen

Two weeks later 

Every student from Savannah High was at the ballroom where HOCO was being held. The football team had won their homecoming game the night before. Bucky and Morgan attended the dance together even though they were broken up. They had already agreed to go and bought the tickets. 

The ballroom was filled with everyone mingling and dancing. Bucky spotted Ellie and Colton as they came in with their group. He looked down as he thought "beautiful." 

As the night wore on the more jealous Bucky got. He didn't like the way Colton was holding "his girl." He felt like a dagger to the heart watching them dance and flirt. Bucky hid on the stairs as the dance went on. 

It was finally time for them to present court winners. They announced their winners of freshmen Lady and Lord. Sophomore's Duke and Duchess and the junior's class prince and princess. It was finally down to their seniors. 

"Ladies and gentlemen your homecoming King and Queen is Elliot Katherine Cooper and Colton Baxter.." 

Bucky was sitting on the stairs stunned. "What!" Morgan yelled as they placed the crown on Ellie's head. 

The DJ started up "10,000 Hours." as the winners took to the dance floor. 

"Pinch me Colton.." she whispered 

"Baby this is real. I promise you this is real." He said as he kissed her. 

Bucky went over to Morgan. "Hey do you have a ride?" He said 

"Yeah..unless you want some company." Morgan said 

"Morgan I'm going home to my son. I'm not in the mood to have sexual relations right now." He said as he walked off. 

He stood at the top of the stairs to get one more glimpse and left. When he got home James and Ryan were drinking beers.

"James? You are home early.." James said 

"I wasn't having fun." He said as he went upstairs.

"Did you win King?" Winnie said as she and Ophelia came in from the porch. 

"No I didn't. And before you ask Ellie and Colton won." Bucky said as he went on to his room and slammed the door. 

He slid down the door and threw his tie as he cried. "It was suppose to be me..not him." he whispered. 

After the dance was over Colton and Ellie went to his house. They were making out hardcore on his bed while she was in his t shirt and him in ball shorts. She felt him began to massage her breasts as she straddled him. He was also sucking on her neck.

The next afternoon Bucky dropped off Cam to Ellie. He didn't say one word to Ellie it had been like that since their fight. Bucky pulled up at the school for football practice. 

"There you are. Go get suited up we are just warming up." Ryan said 

"Dad..Ryan I don't want to play anymore. Give Dylan my top spot and send back all my offers." Bucky said 

"James.." James said as Bucky dropped his pads and walked away. 

Both Ryan and James swallowed hard. "What has happened to my boy Ryan?" James said tears welled 

"He's in love..and he's heartbroken." Ryan said 

Bucky drove home wiping tears when he pulled in. Winnie met him as she was leaving for work at the hospital. 

"Honey don't you have practice." Winnie said as he went in through the garage. 

"I quit.." he said as he went inside. 

Winnie decided it wasn't a good idea to leave TJ with her brother right now and went on with her plan to drop her off at her parents.
