R U N N I N G

C H R I S T M A S - Draco's POV

"My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone"

It was one week before the holiday vacation and I had already received a letter from my father telling me he wouldn't be paying for me to come home. I would be staying alone because both Hermione and Blaise would be away with their parents.

Hermione had met Blaise and they'd gotten along great, sometimes even flirting. Every time he'd say something to purposely make her laugh, I felt... something.

I sighed as I got ready to say goodbye to my friends and walked out to the common room.

"Draco! Over here!" I heard Hermione calling out to me.

I walked over to her and saw Blaise was already sitting next to her on the small sofa. I felt myself get irritated at the sight of him. I sat on the big sofa and watched them.

"So, are you two ready for the train ride?" I asked, trying to distract myself.

I watched as Blaise threw an arm around Hermione, "Yes! I told the small fry to stay near me until we got back so that no one would pick on her" he told me.

I saw Hermione move slightly away from him and felt some satisfaction.

She looked between us, "Blaise, switch with Draco. I want to spend time with him before we go."

An irritated expression crossed Blaise's face briefly before standing up and switching with me.

I felt as she moved closer to me and threw my arm over the back of the sofa.

She moved again and laid her head on my shoulder, "I'm going to miss you Draco. You have to give me your phone number in case my parents get me a phone! That way we can talk and text!" she told me.

I smiled as I watched Blaise from the corner of my eye and nodded, "Already thought of it and wrote it down for you" I told her, handing her the piece of paper.

She smiled up at me and held it tightly in her hands. The clock chimed and we all knew they had to get to the platform to leave.

I gave Blaise a nod and one last hug to Hermione before watching them leave the school. It was going to be a long holiday.
