Days like these
Make me wonder how her lips must taste to you
Does your breath still smell of lemons?
Do you give her shivers as your fingers trace patterns on her skin?
And does she feel you smile with your mouth pressed against her neck?
Is she everything you've ever wished for?
So much better, more exciting.
Does she love you like I never could?
Is her kiss more sure, not timid and clumsy
Does she smell of wildflowers, or musk?
Do your arms slide around her waist with ease
Like slipping into a familiar place
Does she call you home?
Do her eyes fill with tears at the thought of you gone?
See I'd ask you myself,
But there's an unspoken rule,
And I know when it's time to let go.
It breaks my heart, but I've left you alone.
Do you still ever miss me?
These questions haunt me at night.
As well as the thought that I'll never know.
