She didn't even notice how
All her stories began to end in pain
How every happy ending she imagined got blown away like ash
Every love story broke in the end
She didn't see the truth as it stared her in the face
Didn't notice the road she was walking down until
She turned back and saw how much lighter the horizon behind her had been
The happiness she'd lost.
She didn't realize she'd lost all her faith in love
Until she tried to picture it working out
And finding that she couldn't.
Her dreams always turned to nightmares
And she didn't believe it could be otherwise
This is what he did to her
This is how she broke
Her world went from vivid color
To darkened shades of gray.
