"Get your hands off my daughter" I hear my dad scream causing me and Bucky to jump awake "oh no" I say as my father, in full suit, grabs Bucky by the neck "dad what are you doing" I say getting up "I gave you one rule" my dad yells, I break them apart using my powers and Bucky falls onto the bed gasping for air "and I followed the dam rule dad, Bucky and I are friends and he needed me last night" I yell, his helmet opens and he looks at me still angry
"What would he need so late?" My father asks "I get nightmares all night from hydra, last night was the only night I managed to get some sleep and that's only because Penelope stayed with me until I slept. It's pathetic I know, a super soldier having sleeping issues" Bucky speaks up "I know you were never happy about me coming in, but I wouldn't get with Penelope. We are just friends" Bucky explains "I guess I owe you an apology" my father says "you were just acting like a father" Bucky says and my father nods
"What happened?" Steve asks, Sharon was behind him "nothing just helping out a friend and an extremely overprotective father" I say with a shrug "I'm going to speak to her, it's why she's here" Steve thinks "okay" i reply
"Dad I need your car" I say after lunch "why would you need my car?" He asks "well I promised Peter I would pick him up from school in it to make him look cool being the newest avenger and all" I say with a shrug putting my hand out "the worlds eyes are on you as the newest avengers you think it's a good idea to be out and about that way?" My father asks and I sigh "I'm not going to be, I'm just picking Peter up. He's not exactly popular in school you know" I say and my father sighs before handing me the keys
"Straight back home" he says and I nod before hugging him "you're just trying to make the kid look cool" my dad says and I nod "pretty much" I say walking away "where are you going?" Steve asks "I had an annoying little brother to pick up" I joke while walking away and getting into the car. I drive to Peter's school making a lot of noise outside revving the engine and putting down the window
"Peter, Ned. You need a ride?" I ask with a wink "the newest avenger knows you? Turns out she's not so cool after all" a kid says approaching Peter "You think so?" I ask dropping all his books with my powers "careful when talking to my friends kid, getting hurt by a girl would really hurt your ego" I say with a smirk "will you drop MJ home?" Peter asks and I nod "get in" I say smiling and they do
"You're so cool" Ned says excited "thanks Ned" I say with a smile "so how did you two even meet?" MJ asks "Stark internship" Peter says instantly "are you hearing me?" Peter thinks "yes" i reply in his head "she doesn't know" Peter thinks "I got that" I reply "she's so pretty" I hear Ned think
"Yeah Peters like the annoying sibling I never got to have" I say with a laugh "you don't have siblings?" Ned asks "nope, I'm an orphan" I reply knowing I can't tell them that I'm a Stark "do you have a superhero name?" Ned asks "no actually" I reply "so just Penelope?" MJ asks and I nod "Or Penny" I say with a shrug
I drop Ned and MJ home before driving away "thanks for not saying anything" Peter says "I know more than anyone how it is to have to hide your true identity, being the hidden Stark and all" I say with a laugh "still I appreciate you doing this for me, and Flash's face when you arrived and messed with him" Peter says with a laugh "is that your bully?" I ask "I don't have a bully" Peter says and I raise an eyebrow
"Fine he does mess with me from time to time" Peter admits "you're Spider-Man why don't you just slap him around?" I ask "because I like being two people, I like being me with others and being Spider-Man out there. I like keeping things separated" Peter says with a shrug "you're a dork, but I get that" I say parking the car "I can continue picking you up if you want" I ask "I think this one time was okay" he replies and I nod "but I wouldn't mind having you come get me again next week" Peter says and I smile "okay" I say
"But I have homework now, I'll see you at dinner" Peter says and I nod. I walk into the living room to see Sharon and Steve "you're still here?" I ask "why wouldn't I be?" She asks and I look over at Steve with a laugh "Nellie" Steve says and I shake my head while walking away "Hey kiddo, are you okay?" My father asks and I nod "I'm fine dad" I say with a fake smile "okay" he says pinching my chin softly before walking away, I laugh at how corny he can be and walk into my room
I sit on my bed and burry my face into my hands stressed that I feel jealous to see him with Sharon. You like him, just admit it. But I can't admit it, I refuse to even allow myself to feel this away about anyone after what happened with Theo. I shake my head before getting in the shower trying to forget about everything
"I thought you would like some company" Steve says from behind me, I turn around "what happened?" I ask tracing a red mark on his cheek "Sharon wasn't too happy about the breakup" Steve says and I look into his eyes "I told you I would rather do this with you and I meant it" Steve says tucking my hair behind my ear before cupping my face with his hands and kissing me gently
We sit under the shower for a couple of minutes before getting out "why did you get so mad?" Steve asks me "I know how it feels to be in her position, even though she caused that position for me. I don't wish it upon anybody else" I admit "did she really hit you?" I ask with a laugh "she did" Steve says and I run my finger over his cheek "you're good Steve, you're good and innocent with these things. And it scares me" I say "what scares you?" He asks and i shrug
"I wouldn't want to be the one to hurt you" I whisper truthfully
