I ask Steve "I will be going to meet the real Asgard" I say with a smirk "I will be great" I say with a smile "Please be careful" Steve says and i nod "And you too" I say placing a kiss on his lips "We need to get back to our boys" Steve says and i nod "We will" I say and we turn to look at the rest of the Avengers
"Five years ago, we lost. All of us. We lost friends... We lost family... We lost a part of ourselves. Today, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful. "He's pretty good at that" Rocket says "Right?" Scott replies and i laugh "All right. You heard the man. Stroke those keys, jolly green." Tony says "Tractors engaged" Bruce says "See you in a minute" Natasha says excited and we shrink
Except i don't "What the hell" I say looking around at the empty room, i try to shrink again but nothing happens "This is bullshit" I say annoyed while walking out of the room. I walk back in to see everyone begin to flash back "What happened?" Steve asks "Mine didn't work" I say frustrated "Did you get the damn thing?" I ask throwing my helmet on the floor "Yeah we got it" Steve says and i look around
"You telling me this will actually work?" Rhodes asks "Where's Natasha?" I ask looking around with a frown "Clint where the hell is Natasha" I say walking towards him "There's was only one way to get the stone" Clint replies quietly "No" I say running towards him "We were meant to have everyone back" I yell as i feel Steve grab onto me
"Let me go" I scream, Steve turns me around and hugs me tight "This isn't how this was meant to go" I cry, Natasha was my best friend. She was the first person i ever cared about
We all get changed and meet outside by the lake "Do we know if she had a family?" My father asks, i look over at him with red eyes "Yeah. Us" Steve replies "What?" Thor asks "I just asked a question" My father says "A stupid fucking question" I say running my hand over my eyes
"Yeah, you're acting like she's dead. Why are we acting like she's dead? We have the stones, right? As long as we have the stones, Cap, we can bring her back, isn't that right? So stop this shit. We're the Avengers, get it together." Thor says clearly frustrate and way too drunk "We can't get her back" Clint says "Wha-what?" Thor asks
"It can't be undone. It can't" Clint says and i stand up "Why did she have to die?" I ask walking closer to Clint "It was supposed to be me. She sacrificed her life for that goddamn stone. She bet her life on it." Clint says "It's not like i wanted you to die Clint. I don't" I say "I didn't want any of you to die" I say while pulling him into a hug
"She's not coming back. We have to make it worth it. We have to" Bruce says, i pull away from Clint "We have to do this right" I say "We will" Steve says and i nod with a sigh "Then let's do it" I say walking away "Are you guys coming?" I ask without turning back
"Hey" Steve says pulling me aside once we get to the lab "Husband" I say with a small smile trying to hide my pain "Wife" He replies "You don't have to hide, not from me" Steve whispers "I wanted to go to Asgard and i wanted everyone to be back" I say "I know" Steve says resting his hands on my waist and pulling me closer "We're going to have to tell the kids" I say
"Their favourite aunt" Steve says sadly "Their only Aunt" I reply "Not for long" Steve says and i nod
"All right. The glove's ready. Question is, who's gonna snap their freaking fingers" Rocket asks, Steve and i pull apart and walk over to the table "I'll do it" Thor says "Excuse me?" Scott asks "It's okay" Thor says trying to walk forward to grab the gauntlet "No" I say pushing him back using my powers
"Wait, wait, Thor, just wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet." Steve says "I'm sorry. What, we're just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?" Thor asks "We should at least discuss it" Scott says "No, no, sitting here staring at that thing is not gonna bring everybody back. I'm the strongest Avenger, okay? So this responsibility falls upon me. It's my duty." Thor replies
"Why because you're a God? Thor this is not how this is going to work" I say "Stop it! Just let me! just let me do it. Just let me do something good. Something right." Thor says "Thor" I say sadly " Look– It's not just the fact that that glove is channeling enough energy to light up a continent, I'm telling you, you're in no condition." My father says
"What do you– What do you think is coursing through my veins right now?" Thor asks "Beer?" I say "Cheez whiz?" Rhodes says at the same time as me "Lightning" Thor says "Yeah" My father replies " Lightning won't help you, pal. It's gotta be me." Bruce says
"You saw what those stones did to Thanos. It almost killed him. None of you could survive." Bruce says "What makes you sure you will?" I ask tilting my head "We don't. But the radiation's mostly gamma. t's like...I was made for this." Bruce says and we sigh "Okay" I say
"Good to go yeah?" My father asks "Let's do this" Bruce says and i look at Steve "You remember– everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago and just bringing them back to now, today. Don't change anything from the last five years." My father says "Got it." Bruce says
We all suit up and just wait "F.R.I.D.A.Y., do me a favor and activate Barn Door Protocol. Will you?" My father says "Yes, boss" FRIDAY replies while sending the HQ into lockdown "Everybody comes home" Bruce says and i nod. Bruce puts on the gauntlet before falling to his knees while grunting in pain
"Take it off! Take it off!" Thor yells "No, wait. Bruce, are you okay?" Steve asks "Talk to me, Banner" My father says "It's going to kill him" I say worried "I'm okay. I'm okay" Bruce replies, Thor gives him the thumbs up. Bruce is still screaming but manages to snap his fingers before fainting
The gauntlet slips off his hand and Clint kicks it away "Bruce" Steve says "Don't move him" My father says as Bruce begin to walk up "Did it work?" Bruce asks while holding onto Steve's arm "No, i don't think so" I say shaking my head "Worth a shot. It's over. It's okay" Thor says
I look up at Steve with tears in my eyes "It was worth a-" before i can finish my sentence i hear something hit the compound as i fall unconscious.
