Chapter 47

We arrive at my fathers house "He's not going to be happy" I say to Steve "I know" Steve says and i glance back at the boys "He's not going to mind you being here i hope you know that. You've always been like my father's best friend" I say and Steve nods "I know" Steve says and i nod "Come on boys" I say getting out of the car with the boys by my side "Look dad" Morgan says pointing at us "Penny" My father says happily 

"Go on boys, go inside with Morgan" I say and my father's smile drops instantly once he realises another car is approaching, Steve gets out of our car followed by Natasha and Scott coming out of their car "Penelope" My father says slightly annoyed "Hear us out dad" I say "Rogers" My father says "Tony" Steve replies 

Scott finally tells his plan to my father who is looking at us like we are crazy "I know dad, this sound incredibly crazy" I say "Tony, after everything you've seen, is anything really impossible?" Steve says "Quantum fluctuation messes with the Planck Scale, which then triggers the Deutsch Proposition. Can we agree on that?" My father says and we all share a puzzled look

"English dad" I say, my father rolls his eyes before handing Steve a drink "In Layman's terms, it means you're not coming home." My father says "I did" Scott says "No, you accidentally survived. It's a billion to one cosmic fluke. And now you wanna pull off a... What do you call it?" My father says "A time heist" Scott says and we share a proud look 

" Yeah, a time heist. Of course, why didn't we think of this before? Oh, because it's laughable? Because it's a pipedream?" My father says and i sigh "The Stones are in the past. We can go back and get them." Scott says "We can snap out own fingers. We can bring everyone back" Natasha says "Or screw it up worse than he already has, right?" My father asks 

"I don't believe we would" Steve replies "Gotta say, sometimes I miss that giddy optimism. However, high hopes won't help if there's no logical, tangible way for me to safely execute said time heist. I believe the most likely outcome would be our collective demise." My father says 

"Not if we stick to the rules of time travel dad. We won't talk to our past selves and we won't change anything that happened back them" I say "You watch way too much movies" My father says "Maybe because i was stuck in a house without any friends for like 12 years" I complain "Are you going to guilt trip me?" My father says and i roll my eyes 

"Tony. We have to take a stand" Natasha says "We did stand. And yet, here we are" My father says "I know you got a lot on the line. You got a wife, a daughter. But I lost someone very important to me. A lot of people did. And now, now we have a chance to bring her back. To bring everyone back. And you're telling me that won't even..." Scott says "That's right Scott. I won't even. I got a kid" My father says and i let out a chuckle 

"You know what i mean Penelope" My father says "I do know dad, you have a kid of your own blood now. But so do I, you think i would carelessly put the life of my twins in danger?" I ask just as Morgan comes out and jumps onto my father arms "Mommy told me to come and save you." Morgan says and smiles at me "Mommy says my sister is a little crazy" Morgan says and i laugh

"You know i am" I joke with a wink and she smiles "Good job. I'm saved. " My father says to Morgan before turning back to us "I wish you'd come here to ask me something else. Anything else. Honestly, I... I missed you guys, it was... Oh, and table's set for six but we can add on" My father says " Tony, I get it. And I'm happy for you, I really am. But this is a second chance." Steve says 

"I got my second chance right here, Cap. I can't roll the dice again. If you don't talk shop, you can stay for lunch." My father says and looks over at me as everyone leaves "How is the marriage" My father asks "It's great" I say "You have a lot going on here" My father says "Can the twins stay?" Morgan asks, i see the boys running out while pouting 

"Let them, it's okay" My father says "I didn't come prepared for a sleepover" I say "We have things here from last time remember" My father says as Pepper appears and pulls me into a quick hug "I know you're not giving this up anytime soon, you're a Stark after all" Pepper says and i let out a chuckle

"So let them stay here with me and your father, and come back when you decide what's next" Pepper says "Okay, thank you. Both of you" I say pulling them into a hug "Steve" I call him and he begins to walk over to us, i get on my knees and so does Steve "We will let you stay, only if you promise to behave" I say while narrowing my eyes "And please don't turn into the hurricane twins here" Steve jokes as the boys jump onto us hugging us tight 

"We promise" They say in unison, Steve and I take turns on hugging them both "Okay mummy loves you so much" I say kissing their foreheads "I love you boys" Steve says too and we smile "We love you" The twins reply before walking inside with Pepper and Morgan "Bye dad, thank you" I say hugging him 

"You know, what i said, i didn't mean it that way. You will always be my daughter, blood or not" My father whispers and i nod "I know dad" I say pulling away "I will see you soon" I say before walking away "Where to now?" I ask "Well, we got Bruce too" Steve says and i nod
