I open my eyes frowning at the bright light shinning in face "you're awake" a man stays stepping out of the shadows "who are you?" I ask and he laughs "of course you don't remember me darling, you were so young" he says stroking my cheek softly, I move my face "my father is going to find me" I warn him and he punches me in the face
"Maybe you're right, but trust me on this I am going to get what I want before he comes here" he says lifting my face up by the chin "let go of me" I say trying to move my face and he laughs punching me again. I try to use my powers but it won't work, I shine my eyes at him and he laughs "your eyes may change but your magic won't work, you see the smoke you inhaled deactivated your powers" the man says and I look away
"You took something from me" the man says punching me again before grabbing a knife "call him" the man says "you're going to give me what's mine back" he says and I look up at him confused "I didn't take anything from you" I say, I look over at a phone and see my fathers face "dad" I say years in my eyes "let her go or I will cut you up limb from limb" my dad yells angrily as the man runs the knife down my arm making me scream loudly
"I didn't take anything let me go" I scream my voice echoing through the room "bring the extraction device and the girl lives, failure to do so will lead to her death" the man says and hangs up. He turns around and proceeds to punch and carve me with the knife
"I don't even know who you are" I croak out in pain "I created you darling" the man says as a woman shows up "she looks just like you" the man says and I look between the two of them "you're not my parents" I say spitting my own blood ok the floor "you may have given birth to me but you will never be my parents" I say
Third persons P.O.V
"Who are they Tony?" Steve asks looking extremely worried "they're her real parents, they were meant to be dead" Tony says pacing back and forward "I received your message, what happened?" Natasha asks walking into look at the avengers reunited in the meeting room "they took her" Tony says with tears in his eyes
"How is that possible, the bunker was destroyed in the explosion. There's no way they could've lived" Clint says "what explosion?" Steve asks "and who's they" Bucky asks equally as confused "Penelope's biological parents" Tony says looking around "Penelope exploded the bunker in a fir of rage when we rescued her 12 years ago. They worked for Hydra, she was an experiment for them much like Wanda" Natasha says
"Except her powers didn't come from contact with the sceptre, she was experimented on constantly until one worked. Her powers were extremely uncontrollable at the time, her trauma didn't help either" Tony explains "what extraction device did they want Mr Stark?" Peter asks "Penelope was the only one of her kind, kid. They want her powers" Tony says
"And why do you have a device for that Tony?" Rhodes asks "i created when I adopted her, she cried for weeks wanting to be a normal child and i creates something to give her that opportunity" Tony admits "the point right now is we need to find her" Steve says worried
"is it possible they're in the same location of the bunker?" Sam asks "it would be stupid to go back there, it is too obvious" Wanda says "except that's how we would be thinking wouldn't we?" Rhodes says "hiding in plain site" Vision suggests
"Suit up, we're going to rescue my daughter" Tony says
Penelope's P.O.V
"Why are you doing this to me?" I cry as the man drags a knife across my cheek "I could never understand why he would have changed your name. Caroline Schmidt was a beautiful name, your real surname belonged to the founder of Hydra, an extremely powerful man" the man says "no" I say groaning trying to act as strong as I can "there's nothing you can do now love
"I would never want to keep a name as dirty as that" I say spitting at the man warning another slap "you mind your tone when speaking to your father" the man says and I laugh "father?" I ask laughing again "oh please, what kind of father tortures his daughter in exchange for powers?" I ask "I will never give you my powers, they are not yours to take. Whether you have experimented on me or not. You will die trying and I will take pleasure in killing you both myself" I threaten
"You have your mothers fire" the man says and I feel my body become weak as darkness takes over
