Chapter 50

"Have you got everybody there?" I ask Steve over the phone as i drive the boys to my fathers house "Yeah, just missing out you now" Steve says "Yeah I will be there soon" I say "Maybe you shouldn't though" Steve says "What do you mean i shouldn't Steve?" I ask parking the car "Give me a minute Steve" I say getting out of the car and opening the door for the boys before getting out their things 

"Mummy please come back" Anthony says as i kneel in front of them "I will be back, me and daddy both will. I promise" I say opening my arms "Now you two be good okay" I say "I love you so much boys" I say as they hug me "I love you mummy" They say in unison "We will be back to get you from grandmas soon okay, have fun with Morgan" I say while getting up

"Penny" Morgan says coming over to hug me "I got it from here" Pepper says with a smile "Thank you Pepper, you are the very best" I say giving her a hug "Okay boys, bye bye" I say handing Pepper their bags, I watch the boys run inside and get back inside my car "Okay I'm back" I say "Are they okay?" Steve asks 

"Yeah, they're okay" I say "Listen this mission" Steve says "This may be our last mission Steve and i have to admit it, i miss it, the adventure the-the danger of being out there and not knowing what will happen" I say and hear Steve sigh "If something goes wrong we can't leave the twins alone" Steve says "This is not going to go wrong" I say with confidence

"I know I'm just, i can't put you in danger Nellie" Steve says and i can hear his voice cracking "We will be fine okay?" I say "We will be okay" I say 

I finally arrive back at the headquarters 

We are all together in the meeting room once again "Woah what is that - Thor?" I say in awe "What the hell happened to you ?" I ask going over and hugging him "Clint" I say hugging him too "Where are the boys?" Rocket asks "They are with Pepper" I say scratching his head "I hate to admit, but that's nice" Rocket says and i laugh

"Now that we are all here" My father says "Okay, so the "how" works. Now we gotta figure out the when and the where. Almost all of us has had an encounter with at least one of the six Infinity Stones." Steve says "Well I'd substitute the word encounter for damn well near been killed by one of the six Infinity Stones." My father says 

"I haven't, I don't even know what the hell you're all talking about" Scott says "i haven't either" i say "Oh no wait, the son of a bitch shot at me more than once during that battle in Wakanda" I say embarrassed "Regardless, we only have enough Pym Particles for one round trip each, and these stones have been in a lot of different places throughout history" Bruce says 

"Our history. So, not a lot of convenient spots to just drop in." My father says "Which means we have to pick our targets" Clint says "Correct" My father says "Let's start with the Aether. Thor, what do you know?" Steve says but Thor remains sitting still on the chair "I just spoke to him" I say "Is he asleep?" Natasha asks "No, I'm pretty sure he's dead" Rhodes says 

"Thor" I say "THOR" I scream in his mind, Thor shoots up confused "What did you do?" Natasha asks "I screamed in his head" I say with a laugh "30 years old and you're still the same girl" Clint says "And that is why you love me, now Thor would you please" I say, Thor gets up and walks to the front of the room 

 "Where to start? Umm... The Aether, first, is not a stone, someone called it a stone before. It's more of a... an angry sludge thing, so... someones gonna need to amend that. Here's an interesting story though, many years ago... My grandfather had to hide the stones from the Dark Elves... " Thor sats wiggling his finger "Wooooh, scary beings. So Jane" He continues and a picture of Jane comes up on the screen

"Oh, there she is. That's Jane... She's... an old flame of mine... She... she stuck her hand inside a rock this one time... and then the Aether stuck itself inside her... And, she became very, very sick. So I had to take her to Asgard, which is where I'm from. And we had to try and fix her. We were dating at the time, you see. I got to introduce her to my Mother... who's dead," Thor says as his eyes fill with tears 

"and oh you know, Jane and I aren't even dating anymore, these things happen though you know, nothing last forever" Thor says as my father begins to push him back to his chair "I'm not done yet, the only thing permanent in life is impermanence." Thor says "Awesome. Eggs? Breakfast?" My father asks "I'd like a Bloody Mary, thank you" Thor says  

We all go into the dinning room and begin to eat "Quill said he stole the Power Stone from Morag." Rocket says "Is that a person?" Scott asks "Morag's a planet. Quill was a person" Rocket says "A planet? Like in outer space?" Scott asks excited "Shouldn't have said that" I warn him

"Oh, look. It's like a little puppy, all happy and everything. Do you wanna go to space? You wanna go to space, puppy? I'll get you to space." Rocket says mocking Scott "I warned you" I say with a shrug "He's mean" Scott says "He's pretty cool" I say with a shrug 

After we eat we head back into the meeting room "Thanos found the Soul Stone in Vormir" Nebula says "What us Vormir?" Natasha asks "A dominion of death, at the very centre of Celestial existence. It's where... Thanos murdered my sister." Nebula says 

"He killed your sister?" I ask surprised, Natasha looks at me "What? My parents worked for Hydra are you surprised that they tried to kill me and conserved my sister in a tank?" I ask and everyone looks at me surprised, i look at Scott "Not it" We yell in unison "Honey, the kids" Steve says coming into the meeting room with the phone 

"Go we can pick this up tomorrow" Natasha says and i nod following Steve out "Hey boys" I say as he picks up the facetime call "Hi mommy" They say "We are calling to say goodnight" Pepper says and i smile "Goodnight boys, sleep tight" I say smiling "We love you" I say and Steve smiles "We love you" They say before hanging up "How about we go for a very relaxing shower" Steve says 

"I would love that" I say following him down the corridor "Your room" I say stopping in front of his room as he continues to walk "Of course" He says and i smile. We get in the shower, standing under the water in each others arms the entire time "I'm still worried" Steve says "We will be okay" I say looking up at him "Let's get out" Steve says and i nod

We get out "no, come here" Steve says as i am about to get changed, he pulls me closer and kisses me "While we have some sort of free time" Steve says and i smile before pulling him into a kiss
