I open my eyes slowly to see Steve already while running his hand through my hair "How long have you been up?" I ask "A while" He says and i smile "It's so quiet isn't it" Steve says and i nod "You know, i miss them" I say "I do too" Steve says before leaning down and kissing me "Mommy?" I hear Bucky yell "Daddy?" I hear Anthony yell, me and Steve exchange a look and instantly get dressed before opening the door
I see the boys running down the hall and embracing my legs "Hey boys" I say smiling "We missed you" Steve says picking up Anthony "Come here" I say picking up Bucky "Where's grandpa?" Steve asks "He's outside" Bucky says, Steve glances over at me and i nod. "Come on boys" I say as we put them down "do you want to meet the Hulk?" I ask excited "And Ant-Man?" I ask and they nod excited
"Mummy, you and daddy were avengers right?" Bucky asks as i take their hands in mine "We were" I say "And you fought the bad guys?" Anthony asks and i nod "Yes we did" I say "Why don't you use your powers anymore mommy?" Bucky asks "I just don't feel the need for it anymore" I say "Since the snap?" Anthony asks and i nod
"You know my mummy had a twin sister and a brother" I say "And they disappeared?" Bucky Victor asks and i nod "Which is who you're named after. My sister she was called Victoria and my brother he was called James Buchannan but we all called him Bucky" I say "What about me mommy?" Anthony asks "You are named after your grandpa and mummy's best friend Peter" I say smiling
"Look" I say nodding forward "It's Ant-man" Bucky yells "It's Hulk" Anthony yells and they both run off "No running in here boys before you knock something important" I call at them and watch them slow down "You recognised me?" Scott asks Bucky who is now attached to his leg "You are so cool" Bucky says in awe "Come on boys, they're working" I say and they walk back to me
"They're sweet" Bruce says "What are their names?" Bruce asks "This is Bucky Victor and this is Anthony Peter" I say with half a smile "They are the hurricane twins" I say with a laugh "It's a beautiful combination of names" Scott says and i nod "Means a lot to me" I say "Are you boys ready to see something cool?" I ask
"You're letting them see this?" Steve asks "Yeah, i loved watching my father work when he adopted me" I say "You were 8 and you forced me to let you or your would cause an earthquake. Now imagine having to deal with a literal earthquake every time she threw a tantrum" My father says and i roll my eyes "Are we doing this or what?" Scott asks and i nod
"Both of you sit here quietly" I say to my boys before walking over to Bruce and Steve "Okay, here we go. Time travel test number one. Scott, fire up the uhhh... the van thing." Bruce says and Scott opens the portal "Breakers are set, emergency generators are on standby." Steve says " Good. 'Cause if we blow the grid, I don't wanna lose Tiny here in the 1950's." Bruce says and we all look at him shocked
"Excuse me?" Bruce asks "He's kidding" I say "You are kidding right?" I whisper "Just ... It was a bad joke" Bruce says "I have no idea. We're talking about time travel here. Either it's all a joke, or none of it is." Bruce whispers before turning back to Scott and putting his thumbs up
" We're good! Get your helmet on, Scott. I'm gonna send you back a week, let you walk around for an hour, then bring you back in 10 seconds. Makes sense?" Bruce says "Perfectly not confusing" Scott replies while putting on his helmet "Good luck Scott. You got this" Steve says "You're always so supportive" I say smiling up at him "Even though this is eating me alive" Steve thinks "I know" I reply in his head
"You're right. I do, Captain America." Scott says and i let out a laugh, Bruce begins to press some buttons as Scott disappears into the portal "Woah" Bucky says "Cool" Anthony says "On the count of three. 3 .. 2 .. 1" Bruce says and presses more buttons, Scott appears but as a teenager "uh oh" I say my eyes wide "Uh guys this doesn't feel right" Teen Scott says
"What is this?" Steve asks concerned "What's going on?" Bruce asks "That .. Who is that?" Natasha asks confused "Hold on" Bruce says trying to press more buttons "Bruce" I say concerned while coming over to him "Is that Scott?" Natasha asks "Yes, it's Scott" Teen Scott says "Let me have a look" I say pushing Bruce out of the way and pressing some buttons
Teen Scott gets sucked into the portal and back out but this time he's old "What did you do" Steve asks "I pressed buttons" I say "Can you give me a little space" Bruce says and i move away "You had to press buttons" Steve says to me "I did something" I argue "Something wrong" Steve argues back "Are you guys going to argue in front of the boys?" My father asks "No" Steve and I reply
"You didn't have to press button" Steve thinks "I did more than you did, you're just standing around" I reply in his mind "Better to sit around than make it worse" Steve thinks "Then what are we doing here Steve? We are trying to make thinks better" I reply still in his mind "And that counts for mind arguments too" My father says and i roll my eyes
"Can you bring him back?" Steve asks "I'm working on it" Bruce says pressing buttons, Scott gets pulled in and out of the portal once again. This time coming out as a baby "Oh he's adorable" I say smiling "It's a baby" Steve says "Baby Scott" I say "He'll grow" Bruce says "Bring Scott back" Steve says frustrated
"When i say kill the power, kill the power" Bruce says to Nat "Oh my god" Natasha says slightly scared "And .. kill it" Bruce says, Natasha pulls down a lever and Scott gets pulled in and out again but finally coming out normal "Somebody peed my pants" Scott says "Oh thank God" Natasha says
"But I don't know if it was "baby" me or "old" me...Or just "me" me." Scott says and i laugh "Time travel" Bruce says dramatically, Steve shakes his head and begins to walk away. I start to follow him "Let me" My father says with a wink before going after Steve "Come on boys let's get you some lunch" I say leading them out of the room
"That was so cool" Bucky says while Anthony nods his head rapidly in agreement "Mummy are you an Avenger again? You said you used to be when i asked you" Anthony asks "I will always be an avenger" I say smiling, i sit them at the table and begin preparing them some lunch
"How are you feeling being back in here for this long?" Natasha asks while joining me in the kitchen "It's been um nice" I say to her "There's so much memories here, me and Steve stared here" I say "All over this place really" I say with a laugh "But every time i go into my room, I remember that night. The night that Peter and Bucky refused to leave my side" I say
"The week we rescued you" Natasha says and i nod "You four didn't leave my side, not once" I say "I miss them too, constantly" Natasha says and i sigh "It kills me, it's been over five years and it hurts the same as it did when i watched them disappear in front of me" I say "I know" Natasha says pulling me into a hug "We will find a way to save them" Natasha whispers
