Part 34 - Appetite for destruction -

We wake up at the same time when hearing cracking noises. We put on some clothes and walk over to the egg and just stare at it until we can see a night fury head pop out. Sera smiles softly and the dragon fights its way out and to her. - She is so cute! She says excited and I nod. - They often are. I say and hear Vireos come to us, he watches the newborn with curiosity and goes a little closer.

- I wonder if they will become friends. She says with wonder. - I think so, but we never know. I answer while watching them play. - I wonder if it'll take long before she is grown so I can fly her. - It took Thunder a year before he could carry me, but it may be different between the genders, Snow couldn't before a year and a half. Snow and Thunder snort a little and I flinch. - When did you get here?

I answer her and she nods. - Fun, you are very good with your hands, and I guess it keeps you busy.

- Mhm, what's your plan then? - I'm not sure, walk around the village, maybe get to know some new people. - Have fun then, I got to go now. I say and kiss her on the mouth and run out with Luna and Snow.

- Need a hand Gobber? I ask the black smith and he nods. - Please, there has been a lot of orders today. - Why? I ask and he shrugs.
- No idea lad, I just take the orders and make them. - Do you have the orders written somewhere? He points towards a piece of paper and I read them all. I sigh and start working with them all and we are done two hours later.

I dry the sweat off my forehead. - Thanks Avira, your help is appreciated, just you know. - Don't worry Gobber, I'm happy to help, see ya! I say and walk out.

I watch the snow fall and I smile. - It's a long time since we caused some chaos. I say, getting a smirk on my face. "True, but we have had no reason to do anything." Snow answers and I groan. - We don't need a reason, do we? I ask and Snow rolls with her eyes. - You know it's a bad idea. I hear and see my mother lean against a wall. - Come on mother, it's so boring being kind. I say and she laughs. - You've been gone for too long. I shrug a little at that.
- Maybe, but I believe that I would be more of a trouble maker if I stayed.

- You know, I heard that there is someone causing problems for dragons three islands away from here to the east. I crook my head at that. - Does father know about it? She shakes her head and I grin and jump on Luna.
- We'll be back soon! I say and we fly towards the island.

I see people on the island and put on my mask. - This will be fun. I say and the dragons laugh.
I jump down to the ground and look around the place. Snow shakes of something from her back and I take it up and start inspecting it.
- A feather? I ask confused. I look up and see a bird on a tree, I hold up the feather to see if it's from it. - I wonder.. I crack it up and see insects fall down on the ground and they scatter away.

I snort before looking at the people further away. - Can any of you see any caged dragons? "No, don't think they have captured any yet." Luna answers and I nod. - I wonder what dragon they are after. I hear yells and a gigantic Silver Phantom appears. I gasp and stare at the rare dragon. - It gigantic! I yell over the roars from other dragons and the Silver Phantom.

The vikings try to shoot the dragon down and I hiss loudly and see the dragon look around for the sound. - It heard me? I ask confused. The dragon roars loudly and wipes away most of the people before leaving. I get big eyes and watch after it. - D-did you two see that?
"It was amazing!" Snow says excited and I nod. - Indeed, it was.
We finish of the vikings so they don't try to get the dragon again.

- How did it go? My mother asks even before I land down on the ground. - Great, we didn't die. I jump off Snow and pat them both.
- A lot of dragons captured? She asks curiously.
- Not really, some dragons but not a lot.
- That's good, do you know where Sera is?

I shake my head. - Maybe at the house, why?
- I just gotta ask her something. - Please don't make it awkward, I don't need that. - What do you take me for? Of course I won't make anything awkward! She answers me, almost offended. I laugh a little and hug my mother.
- If you're going to ask about children, don't even bother. - Come on Avi! She whines like a little girl. - Let us just be a couple for some years, I don't even want kids. - You haven't changed your opinions on children. She shakes her head. - Other people's kids I can deal with, not my own. She ruffles my hair and walks away.

I walk around the village with Snow, Thunder joins us after ten minutes. - How are you feeling Thun? I ask the dragon. "Fine, I just want to fly." He growls a little and I nod.
- I know boy, you'll be up as soon as possible. I pat him and he snorts. - Where did Luna actually go? I ask confused. "No idea, but she is safe, don't worry." Thunder answers me and I nod.

We go back to the village a few hours later and I see a girl, maybe 12 years old, sitting down against the decorated tree. I nod to my dragons and they go back home while I go closer to the girl. I sit slowly down with her. - It's beautiful out here, isn't it? She flinches a little and looks at me. - I.. I guess.. she whispers and I smile.
- Want to tell me what's going on? I ask calmly, not trying to push her. - I'm just sad I guess, I don't know.. - I see, I've been in the same boat girlie, everyone experiences that feeling once in their life at least.

- But I don't have a reason to be sad.
- You don't need a reason to be sad, it's a natural feeling that comes and goes, it's your job to keep it under control. - You've been sad? She asks and looks up at the sky.
- Yeah, a lot of the time, I'm pretty used to it and know how to keep it from showing. She looks at me shocked. - What? Seriously? I laugh at her. - Yes, it may not look like it, but it's true. She hugs me tightly, catching me by surprise. I laugh a little and hug her back.

- Hey, promise me something.. I whisper and she breaks out of the hug, lifting her eyebrow.
- Don't do anything that can cost your or others life when you're not feeling good. I ruffle her hair and stand up. - See you around. She takes my hand quickly and pulls me back. I look at her confused. - Can you teach me to tame a dragon one day? - Sure I can, whenever we have time. I wink and she lets me go and I walk home.
