Part 39 - Battle, but not really?-

I help him sit down and I pace around.
- So you're saying that someone attacked you and your dragon, but you didn't see who it was? I look at him, concerned about Berks safety, and my parents. - Yes, the fog was too thick for me to see, Skullcrusher got us to safety.
- Do you have any idea if they followed you? I ask and he shakes his head. - I don't know chieftess, I blacked out.

I hiss and ring the bell and in a matter of seconds everyone is gathered.
- I apologize for calling you all in here, but we have to be on the lookout for a potential enemy! I yell out while walking around all the tables. - I want people up in the watch towers, there's people needed in the forge, I need at least three people to check our emergency exits so children can get to safety! Everyone's listening to what I'm saying. - Fish legs, how is the food supply?
- We need to gather some more, but it's enough. - Not enough if there's still more to gather, someone has to do that. I lift an eyebrow and look at the vikings.

- No one who wants to gather food? I ask and shake my head. - I'll put names on some papers, it'll say where all of you will be and I won't have any complaints, understood!?
- Yes Chieftess! Everyone yell in union.
- All of you stay here until I've written down all the names! I walk back over to Eret and give him a cloth that Sera came with.
- Wash your face. I say while looking for paper. I find some and start writing.

I finish an hour later and hang them up.
- Take a look and the ones who are put up on the watch towers take turns and you start tonight! Everyone else start tomorrow morning! I call out and they come to look.

I pace around and mutter to myself.
- You're stressing me out dear.. Sera whispers and I flinch. - I'm sorry.. I just don't want anything to happen. I hug her and she smiles softly. - Nothing will happen with you here, you know that. - You have too much faith in me.
- Someone has to, because you don't. I growl and put my forehead on hers. I let go off her and walk towards the door and out towards the cliff.

- See anything? I ask Cloud jumper and he shakes his head. "Nothing from here."
- Thanks. I say and he continues to patrol around from the sky. I get other dragons to help and I jump on him. - We'll check further, I want to stop them from coming closer. He nods and we fly out and I keep an eye on everything.
"You've gotten protective over the village, that's strange." I shrug a little. - I have people to fight for, I didn't have that before.. I shake my head and take my binoculars to see further.
- Can't see a single shit, we'll try the other directions..

I sigh and lay down on his back, not as comfy as my own ones. - Why are you not comfy? I ask tiredly. "My back is not meant to sleep on you know." I snort and sit up again.
- Guess we'll turn, I can't see anything.. He nods and turns. - Fly up, now! I say and he reacts fast. I look down at the ships with big eyes. Cloud jumper hisses loudly and he roars so Berk can hear and help. - How did we not see them!? I ask, trying to avoid the arrows. "No idea, but we gotta get rid of them!"

I hear wings and yells, making me look behind me to see the other vikings come to us. I breathe out and jump on Snow so Valka can have her own dragon. "I feel cheated on."
Snow says playfully and I chuckle.
- Not the time for jokes. I get her to fire at the ships and the others follow, burning all of the ships in minutes. They all cheer excited because of the victory and I smile weakly before we land back on Berk.

- See, everything is good when you're in charge. Sera says and kisses me passionately. I snort after the kiss. - I fear that those were just some scouter ships.. Sera takes my hand and shakes her head. - We have defenses, we have everything we need to defeat a army, don't worry. She smiles at me and I nod weakly.

- I still want people on the watch towers, now! I yell out and the vikings that are on watch duty run out to start. - You look so good when you're in charge. Sera says and I laugh. (What a simp x )
- You implying anything? I ask and see a little tint of red on her cheeks. - No, not at all. She answers me, making me smirk. She rolls her eyes. - You coming home now or tomorrow? She asks and I laugh. - I'm coming back in an hour or so, see you love. I kiss her and she walks out.

Thunder growls at me and I lift an eyebrow.
- When did you get here? I ask confused.
"A second ago, how is it going?"
- Fine right now, I just hope we don't have to fight others anymore.. "Yeah, Snow told us about the ships, where did they come from?"
- From south, Cloud jumper had just turned when I heard arrows under us, I just find it weird that we didn't see them before.
"Don't beat yourself up over it, they are gone." - I wish that helped me Thun, I just can't stop thinking about my parents..

"Their dragons are there, they are fine."
I sigh and nod. - Hopefully, we'll see if they come home. I walk up to the family picture and smile weakly. - Guess we should fix a new one when they're back.. Thunder nudges me and I hug him, before walking over to his tail.
- Your fin is growing fast, does it hurt? I ask when I touch it and he shakes his head.
"Not as much anymore." - That's good, hopefully you're up and about in a month, we will probably need you up there than down.
He snickers a little and nods.

My sister comes in and looks at me with big eyes. - What the heck, why are your still awake!? She asks me and I look at her confused. - Because I am making sure that everything is okay? I lift an eyebrow.
- Go to sleep, it's late woman! - I'm not tired, you go in. She comes closer to me and takes my hand. - I know you're worried about everything, but you can't function without sleep.. she says softly and I sigh, knowing that she is right. - I'm going to sleep soon, don't worry. Evelyn sighs and nods. - An hour, if you're still here I'm dragging you out. I roll my eyes and she walks out.

- She literally has no rights to say what I'm gonna do and not, I'm the one in charge now! I say when I'm sure she's gone.
"She's worried about you Av, and she is not the only one."
- Come on, we'll walk around to make sure everything is fine. He nods and we walk around, talking with the people on the watch towers. We walk back home when we are sure that there's no threat right now. Sera jumps up and puts her legs around me and I laugh.
- Missed you too bubs. I say and kiss her softly on the forehead. She pouts when I don't kiss her on the lips. - Has the dragons gotten food? I ask and she nods. - Thunder, your food is also ready. She says and Thunder growls happily and goes off to eat.

- Why weren't you sleeping? I ask her when we lay in bed. - I don't like sleeping without you.. she whispers and I pull her closer.
- You'll be fine without me dear. I kiss her and she snuggles closer and closes her eyes.
- I'm safer with you.. she answers me sleepily and I sigh.
- I love u. I hold her tightly, letting darkness take over.
